Great location, easily walkable from the centre and right on a canal. Simple but great breakfast. All you could ask from a budget hotel.

Pros: This hotel is centrally located to many of the sights and within walking distance.
The room was a good size for 2 people and we had a view of the church. Surprisingly, the room was pretty quiet.
Cons: The building is very old (1890’s) so expect old stuff. The stairs to get to reception was 3 levels of very steep steps. See photo. Not for those with bad knees or older than 35! And if no one was there to help you, you had to carry your own luggage up those stairs!
- the room was clean but the shower was moldy.
-the bed was awful! Very, very soft and small. You couldn’t sit on the bed to put your shoes on because you’d fall off the side!
-the room was hot! We opened the window and had the fan on at all times. Very stuffy.
- the breakfast was a joke. Very small cups of coffee and croissants. There are a variety of cafes right outside the door. Certainly not worth the money!
I have traveled the world and have never stayed in a place quite like this one!
When we opened the door, we sighed because we saw two flights of very steep stairs and we knew we couldn’t carry our suitcases up those stairs. We left our bsgs at the door, climbed the stairs and checked in. The clerk sent a man to bring our bags up and he did so immediwtoey. Beyond the stairs, the entire staff was as good as it gets. The room was a bit small but they upgraded us to a canal view. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was fine. Breakfast was typical of a European continental breakfast . We walked to all sights we wanted to see. The Omarion was excellent and public transport is right out the door. Very happy with our stay.
staff was very friendly. continental breakfast was good. i just don’t like the idea of giving our keys to front desk whenever we leave the property and don’t look forward to climbing those stairs after a long day of walking. location was great

The hotel in good for short stay , bed and bath, outside of the property not very clean by city or properties. Good location, quiet
Such a lovely hotel with amazing staff! We stayed for 2 nights and the hotel went above and beyond for us, providing us a balcony room at the last minute and helping throughout our stay.
The Hotel is in an excellent area to visit the major areas of Amsterdam.
The staff are great.
You have to remember it is in the historic district and as such is very traditional
Really good value
Very convenient to Anne Frank House, Dam Square and other attractions. Extremely steep steps, if you are older or handicapped this is not place to stay. Staff was great, comfortable beds and quiet.
We had a lovely stay here! 24/7 reception staff and the rooms were lovely! Small as others have said but it's perfect for two people! I don't know why people were upset with breakfast in other reviews, it was lovely! Lots to choose from!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Lovely place to stay with a lot of character - the staff were very friendly! My kettle and light in the bathroom did not work but other than that, very pleasant.
When we checked in the woman working at the front desk was so lovely and even upgraded our room for us which were we super appreciative for! All of the staff were really nice and helpful. The breakfast included was basic but very tasty. The location was great, it was near transit but anywhere we wanted to walk was 30 mins or less. Absolutely recommend and we can't wait to stay again!
Room and bathroom were cramped but very functional and who goes to Amsterdam to hang out in the room anyway? Bed super comfortable, service friendly and efficient, very quiet except for the church bells every quarter. Breakfast nice, important to know the stairs up are steep and long.
Very cramped experience, steep stairs, small check in area. Rooms very small and tight. Breakfast adequate but minimal. Good coffee. Staff extremely helpful! Excellent location, could walk most anywhere of interest. Descent price.
Great hotel full of character. Fixtures and fittings are a bit dated and looks a bit tired in places, but that said nice unique place which makes a change from the modern charmless hotels. Very steep stairs upto the reception so no good if you struggle with stairs.
