“Beautiful hotel in rural setting. Owner Miguel reserved our Acoura 516 bridge tickets as our international charge card was not accepted. The continental buffet breakfast was delicious and freshly served. We enjoyed the fireplace in the evening which Miguel started each evening. If we return to the area to hike we will definitely stay here again. It was impressively clean and staff (his family :) friendly. ”

“This is a beautiful property! Definitely a place to use as a base when exploring the Douro Valley and also a wonderful place to take time to relax. The rooms are well-appointed. Our outside guest room had a veranda and chairs overlooking a fountain, pool and the Douro River. The landscaping and plantings are very nice. We had an easy walk to numerous restaurants for dinner. The included breakfast was all we could wish for. The host was very gracious. We really enjoyed our stay here.”

Le petit déjeuner ? Un délice sur toute la ligne avec un bon choix de pain, gâteaux, fromage, charcuteries et biens d'autres choses. Nous recommandons sans hésitation cet établissement. ”

Please note that the only way to get there is by car and the most convenient option is to take advantage of the dinner offered. “We had a comfortable room with a patio overlooking the Douro River. Staff very friendly. The only negative from our point of view was the window from the shower into the room. The botton 2/3 rds are translucent and upper 1/3 clear. If a light is turned on in bathroom bedroom is lit up as well . Also the obvious privacy issues. Other than the the room , hotel , staff, bar and restaurant are great.”

“We were heading out very early one morning for a tour and because breakfast was not served until 8:30 we would have missed it. They left everything in the fridge se we could help ourselves to breakfast very early. Very much appreciated. Susanna was wonderful and made us a fire and was very welcoming.”
