Avignon, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur hotel rooms at the Relais & Chateaux

"Wonderful small hotel in a remodeled older structure right in the heart of old Avignon. Staff very professional and helpful and accommodating, even received a nice hand written welcome note from the property manager (very nice touch), and a free cotton travel bag. Wonderful room with view of the street. Very close to the old palace and many great dining options. Ten minute walk from the train station, which connects by 15 minute ride to the TGV station, so super easy to get to. We stayed two nights, the room was surprisingly large and very comfortable. This hotel has a good elevator but there are a few odd steps upon entry. Both the elevator lobby and the reception area are about two feet above ground level, so when you walk in, you have to step up to the reception, then back down, then back up to get to the elevator bank. Part of the charm of being in a historic building I guess. Anyway, would definitely recommend this hotel."

"The room was a lot older than expected. The bathroom just had a bathtub with a long handle shower head but nowhere to hold the shower head higher so you can't really shower standing up. It also didn't have any shower curtains"

"Excellent location near central train station. Rooms are a bit old and tired, but very spacious. Didn’t have any issues with train noise at all. "
