After being warmly welcomed in the lobby, we discovered that Room 205 was a comfortable, updated, spacious suite. Somehow we had missed the word “suite” when making reservations. For the very reasonable price, this was beyond our expectations. The bedroom is completely separate from the well-stocked kitchen, the dining table, and the comfortable living room. Since we had had a big lunch in Bellingham, we didn’t have dinner in a Birch Bay restaurant. Instead, after a drive out to Semi-ah-moo to look around, we drove about 10 minutes back toward Interstate 5 to The Market at Birch Bay, well-stocked and upscale, which was perfect. We had a good night’s sleep and a nice beach walk the next morning. Next time we are in peaceful Birch Bay we would love to stay at Raintree Sandcastle again.

Clean room with a club house and available grills. Only thing that was frustrating was that the receptionist was a bit rude, and when I asked about availability for late checkout, she responded as if I asked for the key to her personal home. She wasn't the most inviting or warm, but the property itself was great. Right near the beach and shores restaurant, a great stay in Birch Bay.

Beach view off deck, comfortable bed, friendly and helpful front desk, awesome heated outdoor pool, beach right across the street and fun outdoor pub next door with live music. Shores restaurant in front of the resort was not desirable however.
