Room was in good condition, and apparently clean. Bed was comfortable enough for a decent night's sleep. Toilet seat actually had a lid! Had to drive more than 1 mile to find a suitable eatery (which turned out to be an "Outback". Glad I did Google street view prior to visit, otherwise I would have missed the place. Lighted "Budget Inn" sign was NOT LIT.

The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the proprietor was very nice. The motel is very OLD and in need of updates desperately. I can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel/motel and was handed an actual room key instead of an electronic card. The door lock was a single deadbolt (barely), but there was no chain or secondary security device. We were in town for a graduation and only stayed one night, and the price was reasonable.

Bargain rates for nice no-frill rooms

Simple hotel/motel not far from the VT Campus. It's a bit dated but at least it's clean. The manager was friendly and accommodating to my request for non-smoking room. It's definitely a no frills place but the rooms have nice size refrigerators and microwave ovens.

Basic motel

This is a no frills budget hotel, and it's a great value but don't expect anything fancy. It was quiet and clean and close to the Christiansburg Aquatics Center.
