I rented the small cabin right across from the creek. It was nice. Cold but nice. It was a level up from tent camping. The restaurant was nice. People were friendly and welcoming.

The room was small but very clean and in a great location. I was also able to recharge my car which is a big plus. The restaurant on site was pretty good. All in all a great place to spend the night on a journey.

We stayed at Virginia Creek Settlement, and it was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, check-in was quick and welcoming. This place is over 100 years old, yet it’s impeccably maintained—immaculate, warm, and incredibly charming. The heater kept the room cozy despite temperatures being below 20 degrees during our stay, and they even provided extra blankets, which we truly appreciated. The staff was super attentive and friendly. There’s a restaurant on site, and everything we ordered was delicious—steak, pasta, and the wine selections were spot on. It’s perfect for outdoor lovers: great food without being overly fancy. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. We also met the owners, who are incredibly down-to-earth and passionate about what they do. One of the coolest parts was their Virginia Creek trout project—you can even feed the fish. They also have a campfire area set up by the creek. We made s’mores one of the nights we stayed, and it was such a fun experience. Never thought I’d say this, but Virginia Creek Settlement was actually the highlight of our trip—a truly hidden gem in Bridgeport. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

My stay here was a delight from start to finish. Not only is the place so cute and right on the creek, the staff were veey kind and helpful. Great place to stay for a solo traveler like myself, a couple, or a family. Would definitely stay here again.

Out of our two week trip, best stop. Close to Yosemite, most scenic and beautiful stay. Little babbling brook, super safe for kids to play in. Favorite spot on a two week trip, and we stopped different place nightly.

We stayed at Virginia Creek Settlement for one night over Thanksgiving weekend, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The price was great, and the service was even better—genuinely warm, kind, and welcoming. Even though the on-site restaurant was closed during the holiday, the owners went out of their way to offer us free food, which was such an unexpected and thoughtful gesture. Their pet-friendly policy is fantastic—our pet stayed completely free. We also loved the small touches: a welcome bag with s’mores supplies and fish food, which the kids adored using to feed the fish. The entire property is well maintained, peaceful, and full of charm. Our cabin was clean, warm, and cozy, perfect for a relaxing night. The handmade souvenirs in the gift area were also super cute and added to the charm of the place. Overall, Virginia Creek Settlement provided far more than we expected. Highly recommended.

My sister and i come 2x a year. We love the fishing and hiking and enjoy the weather, while using the tent cabins. The owners are very kind and always help if necess. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Its a great location to reach the upper lakes. Its also close to Bodie and rhe hot springs.
