Needs some tlc, but a good overnight stop after finishing the SW. Especially appreciated the bath.
Basic but perfectly good stop over. Noisy start as its across the road from a seafood factory that started workat 6. Take ear plugs and your all good.
Very reasonably priced hotel in the centre of Buckie. Check in was quick receptionist was pleasant. My room was ok for a couple of nights with plenty of tea & coffee and a comfortable bed. On the downside, it was uncomfortably hot and the shower didnt work.
Ate dinner in the restaurant one night. Food was good but the service was very slow as the poor receptionist was having to serve on her own. Breakfast though was terrible and overpriced.
It was, as the title says, an OK stay. When we got to the Marine Hotel, we almost missed if as if didnt look like the photo we'd seen on the Hotels.com site, a lot of the lettering was missing from the front of the building. Inside was dark by reception. The staff were helpfull & friendly but the building & room needs a lot doing to it. We arrived just afted 5pm, needing to dry out & warm up (due to the heavy rain we'd been out in whist we were exploring)...sadly this had to wait as there was no heating or hot water when we arrived. I went to reception & the lady there went to check the boiler straight away & returned to say we'd have hot water & heating in about half an hour, which we did. The room was very dated and wasn't cleaned well or checked before our arrival, there was black mould around the bath (silicone), paint flaking on all door frames/skirting, there was also huge cobwebs & lots of dust. We were travelling with our dog, so do aften get the 'not as plush' rooms but we really dont think that what we paid reflected what we actually received. An OK stay but disappointing.
We enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful view of the sea. Everyone was very helpful and kind. Food was delicious but restaurant is not open everyday..

Good food and great staff
All staff seemed genuinely very friendly.
The upper floors are tired but there are signs of modenisation work being carried out.
A nice varied dinner menu campared to the normal chain hotel offering

Affordable night stop for the country road trip
Although the room had a pretty decent size, the furniture need to be updated. The bathroom is pretty small and outdated. There was a lot of noise in the bar/patio area until late night hours.

Food was lovely, staff pleasant, but paint work shabby, no full toilet roll, no wear to hang clothes, no mirror in the room
The hotel is very run down and tired , would be ok for a workman looking for somewhere to sleep for the night , the MARINE HOTEL sign has 6 of the letters missing, be better to just take the rest of the letters down . Dinner was good and staff were nice but hotel is worst I’ve ever been in
The hotel suffers from the neighbouring fish processing plant. Loud machinery running around the clock and occasional appalling smells to be expected. Also the rooms seem to be last updated during Tacher's regime.
This hotel was very poor. Shower screen hanging off - worried it would fall off during shower.
Completely run down.
Dirty windows and mirrors - looked like splatters of stuff on the mirror. Mouldy walls
Nothing, it was one of the worst places i have been. The room was dirty, the staff were impertinent and rude at the end. The woman took a card transaction on my card at the end before telling me, which is wrong. Hotel doesn't make it clear about breakfast and there was very poor selection of cereal,no fruit and lift was even out of order.
Wouldn't recommend to anybody and
