I have been staying at the Hawthorn 1-3 times a year since it was a Staybridge. I noticed that things have gone down hill since I stayed there approximately a year ago. Breakfast was not available like it normally is. It seems there was an issue with it getting started but I was disappointed when I saw 2 of the housekeepers come look around for food then grab a bagel toast it and walk away while approximately 30 guests were waiting for the pantry server ran like crazy to get food out. It just seemed poor service that the housekeepers didn't take the five minutes to help him out to provide the customer service before they got their food. I was also charged a holding fee 159.44 US/ $223.78CA that has not yet been returned I have called both the hotel and credit card rep who indicated it has not been released but Hawthorn says it is.
