Pilgrim Sands on Long Beach

6/10 Okay

"Paid extra for a balcony, balcony was soaking wet (probably from the AC), not safe to sit on, slightly wobbly. The light from the outside lights and the lights in the hallways make the room so bright (very poor seal around door and poor curtain coverage) my child wouldn’t sleep. Advertised there is a bathtub (for my child) and there wasn’t, bathroom has been nicely renovated but we chose this place because a bath tub was advertised. When checking out, I let the front desk know we paid extra for the balcony and it’s not safe for use, they didn’t seem to care. “We’ll take it into consideration”. Right on the ocean but no safe access, there is a beach close by."

"The main building was beautiful, clean and well kept. Our room had dirty sheets, and the shower backed up. The beds were tiny! I called prior to booking the trip to confirm all amenities would be open, the front desk said they would be. The ice cream shop was not open, and the pizza place was open part time. The restaurant food was delicious and the beach was amazing. I probably would not pay the price I did again for our room."

"The rooms are cleaned every other day. The rooms should be cleaned every day. The breakfast was just ok. The choices were limited. The breakfast area should be cleaned often especially when there are a lot of children staying at the hotel. The room was cold. We had to call a couple of times before the temperature was corrected. The evening engineer was able to adjust the temperature. The same engineer was also able to fix the television because we couldn’t get a picture. Maybe the temperature control as well as the television settings should be checked before the rooms are available for occupancy."

"The room smelled like mildew and there were layers of dust on top of the bed frames. I was not impressed. A room next to us was open all day and night with no one inside, which made me believe staff was not very attendant. There is no hot tub in the pool and the breakfast spot that is attached is not good. Do not recommend."

"Horrible. Unusable pillows. Defective room with poor workmanship. Couldn’t close bathroom door. Noisey aircon from adjoining rooms all night. Big floodlights light up the room all night due to insufficient curtains. Worst night sleep in many years. The owners obviously never spent a night in one of their rooms."
