"I booked a two-night stay at Pine Inn during my daughter’s spring break. We’re local.
Our room was ready earlier than the official check-in time, and it was clean and matched what was shown on the website and in traveler photos. Parking is located across the street and is first-come, first-served, with one EV charging spot available.
Unfortunately, the stay was far from restful. After returning from dinner, we experienced constant loud door slamming (the doors seem to auto-shut), along with banging and noise from surrounding rooms that continued until midnight.
The most frustrating part was the next morning. We were woken up around 7:00 AM by loud work noises right outside our room. This was extremely disruptive and not something we expected. When I called the front desk, they seemed unaware and told me work was supposed to begin at 9:00 AM on the roof. However, when we left the room, we saw workers removing carpet from the stairs—not working on the roof as stated. I reported the issue again at checkout and was told other guests had complained as well. The response felt dismissive, as if there was nothing they could do.
To the hotel: please inform guests in advance about any planned maintenance or early-morning work so they can plan accordingly. Guests should not have to adjust their stay around unexpected construction noise—especially when they come to Carmel for a quiet, relaxing experience."
