“The overall property is very beautiful, located in a forest setting. The open air restaurant with its observation deck is a great place for birdwatching since there are feeders at the edge of the deck and the staff puts out fruit and seeds early when the birds are active. The staff is wonderful, very helpful and friendly! And the location is very near the river tours and Carara National Park.

“The hotel is perched on a mountain side overlooking the Whales Tale of Uvita. There is an animal preserve within walking distance that provided an excellent opportunity to learn about Costa Rica's incredible animal life.
The staff were wonderful - always smiling and willing to assist in any way.”

“The staff was very friendly and helpful. The area felt safe and we never felt otherwise during our stay. The building itself is a bit worn and has more of a hostel-style feel. While that may work well for some travelers, we were personally hoping for more of a bed-and-breakfast atmosphere”

“Everything was very nice from the room to breakfast to the staff. The only one thing that could be improved is the entry/exit gate that needs manual opening. If you're leaving late, exit should be automatic, and the wait to trigger gate opening can be lengthy. I will definitely stay there again!”
