“This stay at Blackthorn went above and beyond what I needed - some time and space for myself to write. In the comfort and peace of this hut in this location, I was able to write nearly 10,000 words, unheard of in my everyday busy life at home! The hut was perfect, the bed extremely comfortable with high-quality linens and duvet/pillows. Kitchen very well-supplied with everything I needed (and more). “The whole venue is simply amazing. Beautiful building, great atmosphere, very cosy with the multiple log fires. Our room (Blenheim suite) was absolutely stunning. There is nothing I would change about this place! Keep up the great work! We will definitely be back, next time we will eat dinner here (we only stayed here to visit Clarkson’s Farm and the Farmer’s Dog but were left underwhelmed with the food in the Farmer’s Dog).”

“Had a nice stay at The Evenlode. Enjoyed the food. The room had everything we needed. Power sockets in good places, always important. Check in was easy, as was check out. Staff were friendly. A little concerned that the shower seemed to have two bottle of hand wash rather than shampoo and body wash. Overall a good stay. ”

“For a budget hotel it was perfectly adequate. Bed was comfortable. Staff were helpful. No noise issues despite being a city centre location. Cleanliness was fine. City centre location is excellent. Park and ride bus stops were right outside. We were there for the theatre which was just opposite. Most convenient. Would stay again”
