"The hotel itself is impeccable. Beautiful on the inside and the staff very nice and helpful. They have a hotel cat that lounges around and that was just another plus for me. What I wish I had known beforehand was how noisy it is due to its proximity to the zocalo which was the venue for concerts and protests every day I was there. There would be a drum circle almost every night - one night it rained - labor protestors that camped in front of the cathedral for two days, a soccer event over the weekend and very noisy concerts. I would not stay in the area again. One thing is city noises, another one is the banging of drums or ambulant entertainers singing or playing instruments right outside the window for hours on end. None of this is the hotel's fault and if none of that is likely to bother you then Hotel Catedral is ideally situated to reach many amenities and its staff is fantastic. "

"Mi esposo y yo nos hospedamos en el Hotel por 3 noches , Al momento del check out la persona del front desk me informó que había un cargo porque una toalla de mano estaba manchada y que había que pagarla . Por un momento Pensé que la persona estaba bromeando por lo ridículo de la situación, al momento me di cuenta que la persona estaba hablando en serio . Terminé pagando 150 pesos para no discutir porque mi taxi estaba esperando para llevarnos al aeropuerto. QUE VERGÜENZA! Que manera de perder un cliente por una toalla sucia ! No recomiendo a nadie hospedarse en este hotel barato !"

"Caminando a unas cuadras del Zócalo, de Bellas Artes y la Alameda así como de restaurantes, panaderías, museos, etc. El personal muy amable y atento. Las habitaciones cómodas, limpias y con cortinas que bloquean la luz. El desayuno en el hotel muy rico. Recomendamos ampliamente éste hotel. "

"We had an 18 hour stop off in Mexico City on our way home from Huatulco and wanted somewhere that wasn't too far from the airport but in a walkable area. We were happy with our choice of hotel. The staff were very friendly. The hotel was in a very walkable area but wasn't too noisy in the room. The shower was a good temperature and pressure. The room is basic but was all we needed. The rooftop terrace was lovely and we enjoyed sitting up there with some delicious pastries! "

The café downstairs is a highlight, with great espresso, snacks, and a standout breakfast with excellent breads and local specialties, available around the clock and largely complimentary. Small touches like the apple basket add charm. Rooms are spacious, with good AC, very comfortable beds, and well designed bathrooms. All in all, a brilliant stay, relaxed, well run, and full of character!"
