“Outstanding staff. Gave us great local recommendations and very attentive. Bungalows are clean, but simple. The property is outside the main tourist spots, but the beaches close by are even better.”

“The rooms were very comfortable (best sleep we had on our trip to Costa Rica) and we loved the pool, the beach, the sunsets, and the star gazing at night. We were there with our family. It is a bit remote so good idea to bring games and snacks if traveling with kids. The restaurant on the premise is expensive but serves creative dishes by a Michelin star chef using local ingredients.”

“Hermoso lugar, personal muy amable, excelente trato y servicio, el restaurante muy bueno. La playa no es linda ni apta para bañarse por las fuertes corrientes, arena negra y agua oscura. Deberian poner mejores indicaciones despues del primer rotulo de la entrada, me perdi dos veces para llegar a recepcion. Los aromatizantes que tienen en las habitaciones son muy fuertes, de mal gusto y deberian ser opcionales si el cliente los enciende.”

“Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotels beach was not really kid friendly, or even adult friendly. (at least not for me) There was no space to put our towels and beach accessories. We walked about 5 extra minutes to get to the other side of the beach, which was in front of another hotel and it was a little nicer there. There was a beach about 5 min away (by car), from the hotel (Playa Carillo), and it was BEAUTIFUL! Brian, the manager was so kind to give us a ride in his personal car...

“The Sunset Shack was fantastic for our family trip to Nosara. The beach is super close, and the town is very cute. We were right in the middle of it all. Monkeys in the mango trees on the property in the morning, and iguanas roaming all day. The food, the staff, and the hotel itself were all 5 stars! We would love to return to Nosara, and would not stay anywhere else. Thank you Sunset Shack!”
