“We had a lovely short stay at Macbeth’s Hillock. The cottage was clean, cosy and comfortable, with everything we needed. We mainly stayed there overnight while travelling, but I also cooked dinner there, which worked very well. The location is peaceful, close to local sights, and right next to a farm with beautiful sheep, which made the stay feel even more charming. A very pleasant place for our short stay.”

“Property was completely unlocked and empty of people. Had to use posted number on unlocked door to contact an employee who showed up 15 minutes later. Was taken to a dirty unmade bedroom with old and mismatched furniture. Bathroom was 30 yards away with no toiletries and no mirror Water was luc warm. Carpet throughout the building was rhreadbare. After 20 minutes I decided to vacate the hotel due to watching a rat run down the hallway.”

“Rooms were great, exceeding expectations considering its location in the countryside and cheap price. However, the owner should not be so aggressive about inconveniences caused by guests. If he thought we were too loud in our rooms, the owner should have simply said so. Barging in to our room without any warning or properly announcing himself(he just opened the door and came in his bathrobes) was unacceptable. Proceeding to then waving/pointing the end of his walking stick at his guests' faces...

“I had a lovely stay at the Shore Hotel in Balintore — the location is beautiful with a peaceful view over the harbour, and my room was immaculate, comfortable, and felt freshly renovated. “My single room on second floor was clean, comfortable and quiet....perfect for a good night's sleep. Hotel is well situated, just a 10 minute walk to the train station or a nip around the corner to the Nairn Museum. Breakfast was sufficient...partly self serve, partly hot; but staff was a little scarce so no second cup of coffee was to be found. No gluten free bread, but several GF cereals and plenty of other choices. If I am back that way again, I would rebook but stay for longer.”
