“It is a beautiful luxurious hotel with a superb spa. Rooms were nice and bedding very comfortable. Grey's restaurant food is average and very limited choice and overhyped but breakfast was excellent. The biggest surprise on checking out was that they charged 10% service charge on the whole bill including the room charge that was prepaid on Hotels.com. There was no warning and left a bitter taste. ”

Would definitely say its for families as opposed to couples though - several children there and if you are wanting to get away for peace and quiet although it still is very peaceful location its not the same as a couples retreat, especially when in the spa/swimming pool. We will likely return but with our two children - they would love it and we will as a family!”

“We had a lovely long weekend stay at Vine Cottage. Ben and Mary are superb hosts and very helpful with knowledge of the local area and where to eat, etc. The breakfasts were delicious and the room very comfortable. The B&B is in an ideal location to access the Kennet and Avon canal towpath at Caen Hill Locks, which is in easy walking and cycling distance.”
