"We appreciated the large and comfortable room in this beautiful location, which was better than a standard hotel room! The low traffic area made for a quiet and restful stay. The historic charm of the Mansion on 17th will keep you coming back! The entire property is well maintained and very clean. The staff is welcoming and very personable! The air conditioning works well. The nightly social hour provides guests a chance to socialize with snacks and wine, beer, or a cocktail. The breakfast is a wonderful way to start our day! We appreciated the close proximity to the Strand, where we enjoyed restaurants and shopping. We even walked to the Galveston Railroad Museum during our stay."

"The staff was very friendly and helpful. Not only was the room in perfect condition, the entire property was, too. Ample towels, nice linens, hot water, and cold a/c was very much appreciated. The breakfast provided was so well thought out with plenty of options. We especially enjoyed the pancake machine and the overall cleanliness of the breakfast room. We will stay here again! It was a fantastic experience. 10/10 highly recommend!"

"The hotel has beautiful views, but unfortunately, there were several things that made our stay disappointing. The property feels outdated and could definitely use some updating. The shower had very low water pressure, and the blankets in our room appeared to be a little dirty. The elevators were also a major issue. They were not working more than half of the time, which was extremely inconvenient, especially when trying to get around the hotel. We also ate at the bar, and unfortunately, the food wasn’t very good. The pool area could use more maintenance and cleaning as well, as it didn’t feel as clean as it should have. The beautiful views were definitely the highlight of the hotel, but overall, there are several areas that need improvement, especially cleanliness, maintenance, and the condition of the facilities."

"we really enjoyed our stay here! Love that the pool is open until after 10pm (other hotels close their pool at 8pm) Staff was kind and helpful. A bar would be nice for this place to have and a small plastic bag for dirty laundry. Will return!!"

"There were so many perks to staying at this beautiful bed and breakfast! The location was just perfect for walking to the cruise terminals, the staff was beyond welcoming and took great care of us, the breakfast was delicious and filling, and the manor itself had such charm and history! The suite we stayed in, Kaiserhof Suite, was very spacious, nice and cool, and had everything we needed. If we are ever in the area again, we would love to return to George Manor!"
