“The TV remote didn't work because there were no batteries in the remote. The remote was replaced and initially worked but only for a couple of hours. We had to unplug the cable from the TV when we went to bed. Around one in the morning, the smoke alarm started periodic beeping. The desk clerk said it was a low battery but they did not have spare batteries and he would leave a note for maintenance. He told us to remove the battery and left a step stool (which was not tall enough)outside the door....

“When we checked into our room with our suitcases, we looked around and noticed there was no elevator. This renovated hotel, probably dating to the 1950s, had a rear elevator that did not reach the lobby, a half-floor at the front of the building. We were supposed to drag or push our suitcases up or down the stairways to reach the elevator. Or we could take them back to our car and drive to the back door near the elevator. We should have been warned not to stay there but our room was paid for...

“This property is extremely tired. Though the entry and front part of the lobby appeared well maintained. Carpets in other places are worn. In the office behind the front desk the carpet was so old it looked like a cummerbund. Parts of the 3rd floor hallway smelled “doggy”. The pool had large areas of plaster missing. Common area carpet needed to be vacuumed. The elevator was out for a full day/night. The owner of the franchise has obviously milked this one dry. We will not be staying here...
