We wanted a short stay. We were able to have really relaxed breakfasts in the well equipped kitchen and able to relax in the vast room with WiFi, tv and good lighting
The Palace Residential has a great location. It is right next to Haymarket train station, buses, tram, shops, eateries, and convenience shops. It is within walking distance to many areas in Edinburgh, or an easy bus trip to other parts. It was wonderful to have a full and spacious apartment to spread out in. It is a beautiful building with spacious rooms and high ceilings. It is quiet, we did not hear other guests at all. If you are looking for amenities of a traditional hotel, remember that this is more of an apartment building, with no front desk or reception to help at all hours. It was perfect for us, and we would definitely come back again for a short term or long term visit to Edinburgh.
When I was contacted by Rachel, the lady who runs the place, the day before I was to arrive in Edinburgh, I knew I made the right decision to book here. Not only she ensured she'd meet me when I arrive, she also gave me helpful suggestions on how to get to the lodging from the airport. It turned out super easy (and inexpensive) to hop on the Airbus 100 right outside of the arrival terminal, and the lodging is just across the street from where I got off the bus. The lodge itself is quite spacious, with a large double bed, as well as a large sofa that can be easily converted into a comfortable double bed. There's also the full kitchen, and a nice bathroom with shower (I loved the towel warmer;) With many different restaurants and eateries within reasonable walking distance, I did not utilize the kitchen during my stay. Last but not the least, the Haymarket train station is just across the street, making this residence a dream to get to and from places! All in all, with the helpful staff, convenient location, and reasonable price, I would recommend this lodging.

Good location
Great location. Perfect with access to trams and buses. Both buses and trams to the Airport and city centre stopped right outside. I stayed 4 nights and no cleaning was done during that time. No changing of sheets. The manager sent an email, the day before arrival to confirm arrival time. The manager was on site to welcome and to show me the apartment.
We loved it!! Comfy, Convinient, great host, kitchen and it's equipment was perfect for a weekend stay. A later checkout of 12pm took the stress out of leaving and little things like linen and towels had been thought of. 110% recommend.
The way the apartment was laid out was perfect for us but we felt would be idealy suited for families, couples and close friends!
The Palace Residential was perfect for our stay in Edinburgh. Literally 2mins walk from the station, lovely old building, apartments were a good size with separate fully equipped kitchen and really nice private bathroom. Bus and tram right outside the station for short trip into the city.
Only thing to note in case of heavy luggage is there are only stairs to access apartments (no lift) but stairs aren't steep so it wasn't a problem.
Great base with the added benefit of being able to cater for yourself!
Would definitely go back!
The room we had was large and included a bath and kitchen so we saved on food. The location at Haymarket is excellent with taxi, tram, and bus literally just around the corner. The area is quite and has a residential feel.
Staff was nice and responsive if needed, otherwise, they respected everyones privacy.
It isn't the Ritz but it worked well for us.
Slightly shabby, but clean, tidy, spacious, and in a very handy location (near Haymarket station) for getting around.
Complimentary (fast) wi-fi and reasonable price for a serviced
apartment outweighed the fact that I wasn't provided with a towel, or that the lingering smell of home-made curry stayed for as long as I did.

Noisy Room without Wifi
First off, I emailed them to notify them of our arrival time (to store bags) from their contact box on their website, received no reply, and she claimed to have never received anything. To contact them when we got there, we had to use a payphone to find out that they wouldn't be around for three hours.
The room seemed nice at first, until we found that both the kitchen and bathroom had a fan that turned on automatically with the light, but didn't turn off with it. The lady said it turned off after five minutes, but it was actually thirty minutes, so we couldn't turn those lights on before bedtime because they were extremely loud.
The fridge was okay for the first two nights, but then it started making a ton of noise that almost never ended. It kept us awake at night and nothing we tried would stop it.
The shower drain stunk so bad that sometimes I had to plug my noise while in there. The shower had less pressure than a light rain and if you tried to switch to high pressure, it would either be scalding hot or ice cold.
The worst of all, the "free wifi" was hardly wifi at all. It was available so sporadically that it was more reliable to walk down the street to Starbucks. I actually got better wifi standing outside Starbucks than I ever did in the room. There was one corner if you moved a chair to right beside the door that you could sometimes get wifi. She could get it wired to us, but I only had wireless capability.
Disappointing.
