Perfect. Best hotel. Very comfortable beds, ideal room layout, very clean throughout, friendly helpful staff, warm clean water in the pool . Healthy tasty options for the breakfast bar. I'd stay again.

Every single person on the staff I interacted was friendly, open and welcoming. From the front desk people, to the breakfast bar attendant, to the house keeper. The people will make or break an experience, and they definitely made my stay one of the best ive ever had. Thank you!

Subpar
The room musty. The curtains didnt close, and it sounded like there was a basketball game being played above us. Upon checkout i gave the hotel clerk this info and she began to take it personal and tried to make me feel at fault. She wasnt wearing a clean shirt which fit the demeanor of the stay.

Staff were very nice and room appears to have been recently updated and was very clean. Bed was super comfy with lots of pillows. It is 2 levels with no elevator for 2nd floor. We are 70 & 75 and there were no ground floor rooms left so it was very very difficult getting our heavy suitcases upstairs. Which is the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars.

Overpriced for the conditions of the room , mildew in the shower and even the furniture looks pass it’s useful life. The room smelled like stale cigarets.

Everything was great. Property was clean and the room was nice and cool even though it was 95 degrees that day. I would gladly stay there again!

The first thing you notice when you come in the door was the smell of the sewer! It smelled like a sewer pipe had broken, in the Lobby. Expedia rated tis as a 4 star hotel! This was not a 4 star hotel. The price was like a 3-4 star but the hotel was worn out. carpet was old and dirty. You could not go bare foot in the room. There was mold at the bottom of the shower. Very obvious when you went into the bathroom. I checked in around 8pm. Every restaurant in the area was locked except the IHop. Drive up only COVID is OVER!!!. Nothing in walking distance was really open to a walk in customer. Miserable!! Burger from Braums was soggy I could not eat it. The only saving grace was the bed was clean. Breakfast was awful as the scrambled eggs were runny and gummy. bacon was all thrown in the pan like the cook did not care. Worst trip I have every had threw Emporia Kansas. I will not stop here again. The price was worth about $50.00 not $200.00 for one night!! You might ask why did I stay. Well I expected Expedia to give me a proper star system and you pay up front. Needless to say I was pissed. This Best Western needs a spot inspection for sure!! The whole area needs to wake up COVID is over. open up the restaurant's!

Overall we had a pleasant stay. The hotel could use a bit of an update but was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good with lots of options. The woman who takes care of the breakfast area was outstanding. She thoroughly cleaned everything and went out of her way to get me ice and fill my water bottle.

Room 106 not the best.
Smelled moldy, saw signs of water damage and asked about it, was told not since I have been working here. (Started a month ago). Door wouldn’t flow closed, it caught on the carpet. The vent/fan kicked on at 3:30 am and it must have something in the blades because it clanked repeatedly. I need to shut it off. Room 106.

It's conveniently located--right off the interstate and in an area with lots of dining options. The staff was very friendly, the beds were really comfortable, and the breakfast was really good.

Old building and musty smell
Hotel building seemed out dated and old. Musty smell in lobby and room. No lock on exterior side door. Mattress had visible dip as if it had not been changed in years. Floor in room was uneven and could not open closet door fully because of it. Old lamps with torn shades.

I just want to be clear that there wasn’t very much wrong with the facility itself. Of course it’s a cheaper hotel and you get what you pay for. I stayed at this hotel as a last-minute booking for a Government business trip. From the second that I walked in the lady at the front had an obvious uncomfortable feeling towards me she had it very hard time hiding this even went as far as yelling at me, and throwing my room key at me throughout the visit, she continued to roll her eyes at me and show she was uncomfortable in my presence. On my last morning, she made my family and I very uncomfortable, doing something super petty in the kitchen with attitude that was actually caught on camera, and I actually would like the film from that camera pulled. I would never stay here again, and I would highly recommend nobody ever stay here at least if you’re a person of color. Which is something I don’t ever pay mine to but in that situation it was very very hard to ignore. I will never be back and is veterans and federal government. Workers deserve so much better.

Comfortable stay 4 nights
Room was comfortable, breakfast was hot & marvelous with good variety. Two problems to mention, the room smelled very musty, and room door was difficult to open over the carpet. (Room 107) It is an older hotel and both these mentions were the result. We had deodorizer spray, had to use every day. My husband opened the window to help rid of smell. Management should use a spray prior to guests arrival. All ok overall, though. We stayed 4 nights for ESU Homecoming. We loved having Fall trees, lake, and a school jogging trail out our window. Nice compared to looking at a parking lot Front desk staff and breakfast staff friendly and helpful. Indoor pool that looked inviting, but we did not have time to swim.
