“We had a comfortable room with a patio overlooking the Douro River. Staff very friendly. The only negative from our point of view was the window from the shower into the room. The botton 2/3 rds are translucent and upper 1/3 clear. If a light is turned on in bathroom bedroom is lit up as well . Also the obvious privacy issues. Other than the the room , hotel , staff, bar and restaurant are great.”

“We had a perfect stay at Five Sabrosa Senses. Everything was wonderful: delicious breakfast, incredibly helpful and available staff, and a beautiful house made for pure relaxation. We especially loved enjoying the stunning views during the rainy weather. The sauna was absolutely the highlight! We’ll definitely be back.”

“The Quinta da Moita is out of the way of the Douro Valley but well worth the detour. I stayed there 3 nights on a solo trip. The owners are fantastic, very sweet. The place is perfect for quiet respite, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast! I recommend to anyone for solo stay or couple gateaway! Their wines are great too! Just make sure to have food for dinner if you want to relax for the evening as everything is pretty far. But the drive is gorgeous and fun! ”

“Wow ! This is an Exceptional guesthouse, 5 *! I would highly recommend this location. Manuel is the host and will treat you as a family member. He is welcoming and approachable should your have questions or need anything. Rooms are spotless and very comfortable with all of the necessary amenities. Balconies look out over the river. The drive up to the hotel was a challenge,(for us) however, the staff drove our luggage down to our car after our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However a major road was closed nearbtge hotel and we were not warned about his in any way and when we encountered it we were directed to a different route by the police which was the scariest route I have taken in my life of 45 mins of pure hell and my husband is a very confident driver.
