"We had a great one night stay here.
Check in was easy and they have a free hot drinks machine you can use.
Plenty of parking and next to 2 different restaurants/chocolate shop.
There are only 2 hot tub's for the entire hotel and these were occupied by other guests the entire evening so unfortunately we did not get to use them.
Breakfast was decent.
Would definitely stay again."
"Very room with a view that takes your breath away! At first we had no idea where to go to check in, we were not aware of the code for the key. We knocked on the staffs door and he told us, I did feel like we were bothering him so we felt bad. Other than that the property is nice. Lesson learned though, this property is 45-60 minutes away from the next town. Bring food, water and a bottle of wine with you!"
"We stayed at The Hill in late April 2026. It's a great central location to go to Gullfoss, Geysir, several hikes (some that are only accessible in the summer), the only mushroom farm in Iceland and has a cafe, a dairy farm with cafe, and the Secret Lagoon. There's also a great restaurant ten minutes away that specialized in chocolate and langostines. Our room was quite large, which we appreciated. However, we could hear everything other guest were doing - walking or running down the hall, moving hangers in the closet, talking, etc. Our room did not face the courtyard, so to access the area, we would have had to walk to a common doorway - not really that big of a deal. There weren't many common areas for sitting outside of the room, and the room wasn't comfortable for just sitting. The hot tubs were small and kind of distanced from the common doorway. Our patio was small, and you have to access it via a door in the shower. We were given one very flat pillow each, and this was incredibly uncomfortable. Wifi worked well. Hot water ran out for one of my showers, and I had only been in there for three minutes max when my water turned cold. Breakfast was decent, and we chose to eat other meals elsewhere. Overall, good location, nice looking facility, but somethings were just not well conceived or comfortable."
"Absolutely the best place I’ve ever stayed. The staff went above and beyond on everything — check in, dinner (amazing), breakfast (huge variety all fresh), suggestions and tips for our travel, information about Iceland history, northern lights wake up call, to name a few. The cottage was cozy, clean and exquisite. Truly a one of a kind experience. Highly recommend. "
"The beans and the bacon were both cold and this was at 7:35! I would not be expecting this. Supposedly they were in a heated dish. They definitely were cold however!
Staff were quite blunt when asked about gym timings. Nowhere even in their own website does it state timings, so disappointed when wanting to use it at 7;30 before leaving for the day and told I can’t due to rooms above. I understand that but either sound proof the rooms or make it clear on both their own and third party websites the limitations! Hot tub was not in use either, supposedly due to weather. Again something that needs to be informed on third party websites, also that April is classed as winter in Iceland "
"Lovely decorated, clean room. Small things that could have been better - kettle in room but where it's situated, can't be plugged in - had to put it on the floor. Would have been good to have glasses in room and a fridge would have been great! Otherwise, nice enough stay. "
