Disappointing Dining Experience Despite Adequate Rooms
While the rooms met a reasonable standard and were clean and comfortable, the overall experience was let down severely by the food service. Some of our evening meals failed to arrive, and staff were unable to process refunds for those that didn’t. It was clear that the team was under extreme pressure - some staff were visibly upset and overwhelmed.
There was noticeable disorganisation in the restaurant, with meals being brought out that no one had ordered, and guests waiting for food that never appeared. Breakfast was equally disappointing, with one of the worst buffets we've encountered - mushrooms swimming in a bath of oil, sausages and black pudding rock hard and dry, scrambled eggs that nobody dared try.
It was hard not to feel sympathy for the staff, who were clearly trying their best in an unmanageable situation, and for the many other guests who appeared to be facing the same issues.
