"Here is the revised part integrated into the review. The Zedwell Piccadilly has an excellent location. It is literally a few steps away from Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. Unfortunately, that is the only excellent thing about this accommodation. We booked Zedwell for three nights. During those three nights, the room was never cleaned and fresh towels were never provided. The room, which they call a “cocoon”, is exactly that, although perhaps even a cocoon has more practical storage. There is no wardrobe, no clothes rack, no bedside table, and no small table where you can place your belongings. Nothing. Just a bed and a shower room. All your clothes have to remain in your luggage because there is absolutely nowhere to hang or store anything. The worst part was the luggage policy. We arrived at noon, while check-in was at 3pm. I did not expect the room to be ready, but I did expect what every normal hotel offers, the possibility of leaving our luggage until check-in time. Not at Zedwell. To leave luggage, you need to pay £15 per piece. For two carry-on bags and two backpacks, that would have cost £60. They did, however, offer a “better” option, pay £50 to access the room we had already booked, three hours earlier. The same applies at check-out. You must leave by 10am. Otherwise, late check-out costs £50. If you want them to keep your luggage after check-out, it is again £15 per piece. I travel frequently and I have honestly never come across such nonsense."

"The gentleman at the reception desk with a French accent helped us a lot with the check-in process, since we had 10 family members, over 10 big to small luggage, and 3 room reservations over 2 days. He is friendly and professional in sharing all the information we need. The only disappointment was that the hotel management closed the B1 public meeting room after 8 p.m., so I had to sit at the lobby table for 2 hours to meet my team in California. Two Merlin Waterloo staff members that night were not that friendly and helpful during that critical time."

"The room was clean and comfortable and we were centrally located to major attractions. The front desk manager Kahlia (spelling) ? was very helpful and customer service friendly. He held our luggage until our room was open and escorted us to a waiting room for coffee or water. We appreciated all the staff and thank everyone for their kindness and hospitality. As an extra we were able to wash/ dry our clothes for free as that was also a benefit of staying at the hotel."

"Upon getting off the elevator for the 4th floor where our room was, you could feel how warm it was. Entering our room was even worse. It felt like a sauna. We tried to turn the air on, and over an hour later it still felt just as warm. We tried to sleep but it was so warm we were sweating and our clothes were sticking to us. It felt so suffocating in our room that I had to go ask the front desk at almost midnight if there was anything they could do, hoping to be offered a different room where the air worked. We were instead offered a small fan to plug in that took almost 30 minutes to even be brought to us. It didn’t help at all and we were almost up all night not being able to sleep. We were told to ask for management for a refund the next morning, but they weren’t even there when we went to check out and were told we’d just get an email in regards to a 25% refund. 25%? Insane how they failed to even care enough to apologize, fix the issue, or at bare minimum offer a refund for the room considering we weren’t provided a room we could comfortably sleep in, when this is what hotels are supposed to be able to offer. Would not stay here again or recommend."
