We loved the place, gorgeous, well situated, private beach, the staff all look after you and do an amazing job cannot fault it, and there are plenty of staff. We just found the meats a bit hard to chew, but other that the food was good, plenty of it and nice and clean, we had a balcony overlooking the pool and the sea, the round was cleaned every day. The bay watch bar was brilliant the staff brilliant, they had something on every night, would definitely go back best holiday ever.

This is a lovely property. My room overlooks the beach. It was fascinating to watch the harvest of the coconut trees. The cleanliness of the relaxing areas is such a bonus. I can’t recommend this place more strongly

Lovely

The staff was excellent, very nice and welcoming. The food was great, large selection, fresh and tasty. The hotel offers fun activities every day, so we really enjoyed it. The room was very nice but we had some ants in there during our stay, I’m not sure if it’s everywhere or just our room.

I really liked the abundance of beach/pool chairs and sitting areas. The grounds were kept nice and clean and the trees/bushes were trimmed. Unfortunately the bushes and trees outside of our patio obstructed our view of the ocean and mountains. Wish they would've been trimmed more. The different available water activities were good. My wife ended up using the pedal boat and going on the glass bottom boat. The restaurant seemed like it could've had more food and more choices for the amount of people at breakfast and dinner every day. The night time entertainment was just ok.

It’s a 4* hotel with a 5* service that was as good as I have experienced in a long time. All the staff were Mauritian and the difference is so noticeable that when you go to other non-Beachcomber hotels where much of the staff is seasonably imported and the standards are so poor. The location in Gran Baie was excellent for all the northern trips. The beach was nice. The A La Carte was exceptional. But the best benefit was you could use all the facilities and restaurants of the local sister hotels Viktoria & Canonier that were superb and where everything was equally as good. The restaurants were all magnificent. We loved our stay at the Mauricia and will use Beachcomber again when we return to the La Morne area in a couple of years.

Hotel is in a great location and easy to walk to shops etc. Bus stops are within 15 minutes walk. Beach is also great and very safe to swim in. The staff don't smile and feel as though you are a inconvenience. Perhaps that's their way. The team who look after the bags and take you to your room were excellent and remembered your name throughout the holiday. The restaurant is OK but we found the food bland but that's our taste. It is repetitive but they always have something themed and different. Seafood is excellent though. Restaurant staff need training in small details like please don't just clear away our plates and drinks without asking. If you see a baby at least get the high chair and small cutlery for them. Bhurud who looked after our room was excellent and very friendly. He kept our room in excellent order and nothing was too much trouble for him.

Firstly let me say the resort is beautiful with nice rooms and to 4 star standard. Our room had had a makeover and only slightly let down by the shower grout. A small issue and not important. The room staff and the resort staff including reception were lovely, warm and friendly. The views from our room were spectacular. Lovely beach and pools and the pool activities were great with fab staff. However whilst the food served was excellent the restaurant staff were anything but. It was like they didn't work for the resort- totally unengaged and not friendly at all. A couple of exceptions here- the omelette chef at the end of the service area and a few of the more mature staff were good but the rest were just awful. Multiple requests for coffee and any kind of service were met with a sullen look and often forgotten. Too focused on clearing tables and made us feel we were a nuisance. Chefs chatting to each other who got annoyed when you asked them to move to get to the food.

My wife and I enjoyed a week here. Its location is within walking distance of some local bars, restaurants and local supermarket/mall - about 15/20 min stroll. The staff absolutely made the stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful always greeting with a smile. Reception came to us and checked us in whilst sat in the lobby rather than at the front desk, a nice personable touch with welcome drink. They even assisted with contacting the airport on our behalf with our delayed bags. We had breakfast and dinner included. A really good variety which they altered to provide a bit of change - for dinner they had different themes like bbq themes Asian etc. We didn’t try the a la carte restaurant. We used pretty much all the facilities that were included free as part of the stay - kayak, waterski etc. The only thing we didn’t try was the paddleboard as it was a little windy that day. They also provide activities throughout the day like swimming pool exercises, yoga, stuff for kids etc. The spa was amazing. We visited twice for a massage and one with a body scrub. Only couple of small minor things: bar is open until 11pm. They have singing, entertainment etc which I believe most of the rooms face onto. It didn’t bother us much, but note it can be loud if you want an early night. A few flies were around the restaurant which could’ve been better attended to but nothing major given it’s all open air.
