โAmazing ambience, lovely scenery upon the bank of Hudson. Easy drive to Hudson and Bard College. The only thing to mentally prepare for is that life is not as fast paced as NYC. Go with the flow and be nice to the staff because during high season they take care of lots of people without up staffing. โ
โThe owner is very very nice. We biked from nyc, and heading to upstate NY. We booked this hotel at the last minute because it's close to empire State trail. The room is quiet and clean. The owner allowed my kids to pick the strawberry, raspberries and tomatoes. Everything tasted so sweet right off the vine. This literally made their day. โAn okay place to stay for a night. The room was comfortable but definitely looked like it had received minimal upkeep over the years. The shower water smelled a bit sulfuric and wouldnโt stay warm/hot. It was fine just for one night but I wouldnโt recommend staying longer since the amenities were a bit lacking, which is not too surprising given it is a small motel in the mountains. One plus is the property manager was very kind and welcoming. โ
โThe Wick is conveniently located literally across the street from the Hudson NY Amtrak rail station. My room was very nice, spacious, with comfortable bedding and lighting. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a problem with my stuck entry door and it was immediately addressed. Bathroom was very spacious - good water pressure and quality amenities.
