"YuYu was a wonderful private stay up in the mountains of Hakone! My partner and I stayed 2 nights and got a private 50 minute onsen both nights:) It was a perfect way to unwind after a day of walking around. The rooms are spacious and lovely. The breakfast and dinner services are worth it (the food is great!) and the staff are very helpful and assisted us with meals and finding our onsen room. Would definitely go back."

"Hotel was great and really enjoyed the onsen being on site. Beautiful views of Mount Fuji! If you have an early train, be sure to book a ride well in advance with the hotel or you may have issues finding a ride. I would also recommend using your own luggage delivery service and not the one provided by the hotel. Sagawa broke our suitcase and we spent the next 3 days in our new location dealing with it."

"This is a grand old hotel set in a forest overlooking the lake. There is a lovely large garden. The onsen is wonderful. The food was good. It’s a 15 min walk to Motohakone, and only 7 minutes to the Shrine on the Water. There’s also hotel shuttle every 20 min. Rooms are big. Loved it."

"Amazi location, beautiful view, and very friendly and respectful staff. They take their roles very seriously and want to deliver a wonderful and authentic experience for you. The ensuite onsen in the room balcony was absolutely incredible. I spent hours in there! The food was amazing. The breakfast buffet was delicious, but the dinners in the dining hall in the annex were absolutely amazing"

"My wife and I enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The kitchen was equipped enough to cook simple meals and the view of the lake was great. It was super foggy and windy the first night but luckily it cleared up so we could enjoy it. Our only complaint were the beds being as hard as the floor but thankfully there were futon pads available so we put those on the beds and slept fine. The hot tub also worked great and was very relaxing. Also the parking is a little tight to get into. We had a very small car so we managed but I can see it being challenging with a larger vehicle. Hosts were very responsive. Overall the location is great and I'm glad we stayed here."

"The Onsen (hot spring facilities) was fantastic, especially after a long journey. Breakfast and dinner buffet were excellent. Mostly Japanese food but there are a few choices for those who don't like Japanese food. For me, the meals were great. Sushi, Sashimi, lots of different choices. A true test of Japan. Never had the same thing twice as there were too many choices. Not to mention they had beer, sake and some other alcohols available as part of the buffet. Didn't see anyone abusing the access which is good. The only thing to mention is if you are traveling from Tokyo and are returning there, it would be good to only take a smaller portion of your belongings (send your larger cases to your next hotel) as the rooms are not equipped with closets or drawers so you will be living out of your suitcase. Really wasn't a problem with our two large suitcases. Nice walking path in the back of the facility. Strongly recommend taking a taxi or uber from the train station with your suitcases. We road the bus there which was standing room only along a a very twisty mountain road, OVERALL - WONDERFULL"
