Lovely room: bright, clean, modern
Wonderful, helpful staff - Nicole was brilliant, really kind and helpful.
Delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. Just need to get get some herbal teas in stock!
Will come back for sure!
The rooms are finished to a high standard. Lovely breakfast too. Only issue is the restaurant is closed on a Monday but Haverfordwest and Fishguard not far away.
Rooms were brilliant. Clean, modern, comfortable and high quality facilities. Service was equally brilliant. Nicola welcomed us warmly and was very helpful. Top stuff. Thank you.
The place is really nice. Unfortunately only saw it and surrounding area in the dark. Rooms are newly decorated with everything you could need. Beds were comfy. Shower hot and enough water / power to make it worthwhile. Didn't have breakfast, but dinner in the pub / restaurant was really good. Massive portions and very good food.
We booked for B&B and paid in advance for it. However on arrival we were told breakfast was not included. A little annoyed, but did not dwell on it, the staff were very friendly and told us to make contact with Hotel.com. ( not so easy)
Hotel was clean, nice room and a good shower. Lovely bar area. Good location for touring the area. Breakfast was cooked very nice, albeit different to what we would normally expect. Served like a restaurant, had to pay for each item. ( what we had was very nice) Our normal experience would be to come down, a selection of fruit juices, cereals and fruit, followed by a cooked breakfast and flowing coffee. all included in the price of the room. Our room was not serviced throughout our stay. In my opinion a few changes would improve the experience. Having said all of that, it is a nice place to stay.
I can’t recommend The Wolfscastle Inn enough.. staff were soo attentive, welcoming and lovely! ( Seb/Richard and ladies) The food at the inn was delicious, breakfasts and dinners! ( nice one Seb and team) The family room was perfect, plenty of space and cosy and clean.. I’ll definitely be back! Perfect location and such a cosy pub to return too. Richard even provided us with free takeaway drinks for our journey home, so thoughtful. Such a great stay! 👌👌🎉
When we arrived at the Inn all of the doors were locked. The dining area was only open on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Kitchen staff provided us with the key to our room. Staff do not stay at the Inn 24/7.
I didn’t end up staying so can’t really rate it, the pub is closed on a Monday and as a single female wanting to stay I just didn’t feel comfortable, no one is on site either, this should be made clear on the booking, really disappointed
Overnight stay with breakfast moderately expensive
Used this location as a stopover after landing in Fishguard from Rosslare. The place looked like it had recently been redecorated to a high standard. However the radiators were not working, so an electric fan was provided. (Perhaps they were still working on the property). Not much evidence of other people staying here at the time (October 2023). Room was comfortable but a bit cramped. Shower and bathroom excellent. We also had breakfast which took a long time before it was served despite providing a time we requested it for. That meant we left later than we had hoped. Breakfast was good. Cost was £15 per head. Given we were using this just as an overnight stopover point while travelling from Ireland to the UK, it was on the expensive side compared to many others we have used. Proprietor provided very clear instructions on how to get into the facility late at night after the ferry had docked which was a plus point.
The property was ok but nothing special. Our room smelt damp and musty when we went in. When I went to bed there were stains on the sheet, the toilet ran all night and there seemed to be some sort of generator or something running all night. We went down to the restaurant for a meal which was ok but not very hot. The staff were quite friendly but not very attentive as either chatting or just not around. I would have complained to staff about everything in the morning when we went for breakfast and checked out. Well we went down to have breakfast and obviously set the alarm off so went back to room and round to main door of restaurant but everything was locked. Obviously we woke the chef up at home with alarm going off. When he eventually arrived he said it would be at least 20 mins to fire everything up before cooking breakfast. Breakfast was 8am - 10am and we went down at 8am.We had to be somewhere so had to leave without breakfast. If I had just booked this personally I would have refused to pay what we did. We travel a lot and this is one of our worst experiences.
I booked this hotel for my dad (aged 81) and my mum (aged 78) as a stop over before catching the boat to Ireland the next day. However 8pm the night before I received an e-mail to say it had cancelled my booking. I had also booked this hotel for 4th October as a stop over on their way back. Apparently this hotel is now closed. I made a phone call direct to the hotel to be told they could honour the first booking but not the second. Unfortunately the staff had only just been told the hotel was shutting. Shame because the hotel was lovely and so convenient for the Irish ferries.
