This is an amazing stop for anyone riding the Katy (or anyone visiting Hermann). We found it a perfect stop at the end of the long day of riding. It was right off the trail and they made it easy (so we didn't have to go out that day). The communication was great; the place was lovely. We would absolutely stay here anytime I'm visiting this area.

This property was sooo well furnished. It had everything you could need. The design was fantastic! We love the boutique style Vrbo’s/hotels! It is a memorable experience. The hosts were so accommodating and responded so quickly with our questions! We really can’t wait to come back!

Rental and suite were very nice. They did a great job renovating the mercantile. Only downside was the area was pretty rundown. It was right on the katy trail so if you bike, it would be awesome. Price was a lot cheaper than in Hermann too.

We loved everything about the stay! This is easily the best place we stayed at, especially considering the price. The room was unique and the fact that the building was a historic. The hostess was very responsive to our few requests. They thought of any all the amenities. I guarantee, if you forgot something while traveling, they have it! We will definitely be back to the next time we are through the area!

Convenient "home-away-from-home" on the Katy Trail

I stayed here with my son while riding the Katy Trail. The property is literally steps away from the McKittrick Trailhead making it very convenient for an early start the next day. Since my son was my "support vehicle driver", we easily drove into Hermann for meals and to explore the town. The room was more of a spacious one-bedroom apartment rather than a hotel room. It had a full kitchen stocked with some food and drinks and a washer and dryer (stocked with detergent and fabric softener!) which was very convenient. Communication with the proprietors was all through text messages and emails but often and detailed enough that we checked into the room with no problem. The only drawback was that the mattress on one of the beds in our room was a little saggy and needed to be replaced. Was tired enough from the trail that I still had a good night's sleep. Would definitely stay here again next time through.

Ten outta ten!! Olga and Monica were incredible hosts, the property was incredible, and we had the best sleep of our lives. The decor was wonderful and they provided incredible products, robes, and a luxury claw foot tub. Extra bonus is that there is a wonderful local bike rental company, called PEDEGO is located at the same site, ask for Paola!

We stayed in the Vaudeville suite. The room was absolutely gorgeous and we really appreciated how well stocked it was. They had pretty much any toiletry you could need plus a few snacks and drinks. The only downside was that we were woken in the middle of the night by people in another room walking by in the hallway. It would be nice if the rooms had more soundproofing to keep from being disturbed. Other than that it was a great place to stay.

The area was just over the Mississippi bridge but kinda of in a weird area. Safe tough. Close to a hiking trail. The place was just like the pictures. Very cute. The pillows were uncomfortable. Too hard and high.

Best place we stayed on our entire trip!

We booked The Mercantile on the Katy Trail as a last minute, on a whim stay during our family road trip. We couldn't believe how amazing the property was when we arrived. Every detail was thought of, and what an amazing place to stay! It was by far the best place we stayed during our multi-state road trip. Highly recommend to anyone!!!

Very nice accommodations, super convenient to the Katy trail. Limited items for breakfast, only eggs, toast and coffee. They had cerel but no milk. Bed was comfortable, but would have liked a pillow that wasn't so large and firm Might suggest a sign on the building or in front of it, as it took a little while to figure out if I was at the correct place

It was a challenge at first to identify the building. The unit was very clean. The kitchen had nice accessories. The bed was uncomfortable. There wasn’t any cream for the coffee. Light switches were confusing. And you could hear the neighbors in other rooms.
