"I was disappointed with my recent experience. Due to the protests in Mexico City, access to the hotel and surrounding area was very difficult. We often had to use the back entrance to get in and out, and many stores, restaurants, and attractions were closed during our stay. We booked this reservation expecting to enjoy a better tourism experience and explore the city, but unfortunately, the conditions significantly affected our trip. While I understand that protests are outside of Expedia's control, it would have been helpful to receive advance notice or information about the potential impact on travelers. Overall, the experience did not meet our expectations, and we were unable to enjoy the destination as planned."

"The staff at the hotel was wonderful and they were always friendly and willing to offer assistance. The hotel is beautiful and directly in the historic city center. The free breakfast was delicious and so was the restaurant. Loved the hotel! Expedia should have notified us that there was a huge protest (with noise) out in front of the hotel and the Zocolo was closed to access. The Zocolo was one of the main reasons we stayed in this area, so we were disappointed. "

"The hotel was very nice and clean, but our experience was very poor. There was a citywide protest occurring with thousands of teachers living in tents lining all of the streets and blocking all of the roadways. There is absolutely no access to the hotel by car presently. Expect to walk 10 to 30 minutes depending on where your taxi gets blocked by the road closures. There could be no access for some period of time going forward. The protest started more than a week ago and the hotel knew about this and knew that there was no access but they intentionally waited until past the period in which our booking was nonrefundable to inform us that it was not possible to get access to the hotel without walking with all our baggages. I have elderly parents and had to haul multiple suitcases 20-30 minutes walking town through tent cities trying to reach the hotel. Most of downtown roads are closed due to protest and FIFA preparations and the whole area is blocked by hundreds of polices. It was quite intimidating. The hotel was fully aware of this as the protest has been going on for over a week. Had they informed me, I would have been able to get other accommodations that would work for my senior parents."
