KOKO HOTEL Premier Kumamoto

"The KoKo Kumamoto is located inside the Sakura Machi shopping mall and located over the main bus terminal. The Kumamoto Castle Hall conference center is directly adjacent and the Kumamoto Castle complex is a short walk . The KoKo is very centrally located with a large variety of eating establishments close by, and particularly so in the adjacent shopping mall. The Koko Hotel itself is a bit oddly arranged. The reception is on the 14th floor. You can only access the guest rooms from the 14th floor. So if your room is on the 10th floor, you have to go up to the 14th and then down to the 10th. To get out of the hotel, you go from the 10th floor to the 14th floor. This can get a little bit tiresome if you are going in-and-out of your room frequently. That said, the facilities at the Koko are excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The daily housekeeping was efficient. Internet worked fine. The finishings were fine. I found the room to be a bit small for Kyushu. For example, a stand was provided for my suitcase but there was no floor space to use the stand. I would have expected this size room in Tokyo - but not in Kyushu. For your daily jog, the local city streets are adequate, though the wait time for signals is long. During my visit, there was frequent rain and I ran early morning loops in the adjacent parking garage, which was fine. The bus terminal is the first floor of the shopping center. I recommend using the bus to/from the airport."

"We really liked the hotel and the staff. We didn’t require breakfast as we ate elsewhere. The Hotel was well positioned for the Castle and shopping plus an enormous choice of eating places. The only thing we didn’t like was the extremely poor standard of cleaning in the Onsen area. We really enjoyed the onsen, but the changing room floors were quite dirty with debris, lots of hair on the floor, used towels left around, used razors left in the onsen washing area plus the changing rooms. The sink area had lots of hair also. We saw the cleaning wasn’t being attended to regularly, this onsen is very busy and it needs cleaned regularly through opening times. We hope management inspect this area and take action to improve cleaning."

"The Blossom Hotel Kumamoto is hard to find as was advised in the reviews! It ‘s front door is very tall and right up against the Station building!, we found it ok. It is a great hotel in every way and the buffet breakfast was the best that we had on our 16 night trip. The food at breakfast was all labelled with allergens ( gluten free, dairy free, etc) . The quality and choices at breakfast are spot on! Staff are friendly and helpful! We were basically the only Westerners there.! The room was big enough for the three of us and the beds were comfy. Would certainly stay there again!"
