Let me start by saying I am torn on this review. The staff was beyond amazing. Everyone we encountered at the hotel was amazing! The hotel is not up to the standards Im use to from a Hyatt. During the stay we had no hot water for 3 of the days. We were told it was a DC water issue. That makes sense regarding the water pressure but not the temperature. We were highly disappointed. The room we were in had a weird room layout that did not maximize the space. There was a wall that jetted out leaving an area that could not be used and leaving little space around the bed. The walls were paper thin, we could hear our neighbors opening/closing their blinds, etc. We were only able to visit the rooftop 1 time during our visit. The hours say it's open from 2pm -6pm. We tried numerous times during those hours and it was not open. Lastly, we are used to the Hyatts having a dedicated restaurants but it didn't have 1 that we could find.
The plus of the hotel was how close it is to the White House and the national mall. We walked from the hotel to the White House, George Washington Monument, ww2 memorial, veterans memorial, Korean War memorial, Lincoln memorial, Martin Luther Kings memorial, Roosevelt memorial and lastly Jeffersons memorial. We took a left on the way back. The hotel is near good restaurants like the JP Clarke, Old Ebbit and others.
Again the entire hotel staff is amazing. They are super friendly.
