This hotel has two personalities. It is obviously the oldest and probably cheapest hotel on the block and it certainly had some interesting characters staying at it. I did not have any issues, but I'm sure some people would have questions about their safety.
From the outside, the hotel does not look good. The main office, pool, and breakfast area are in one building (with no a/c) and needs a good remodel and cleaning. Some parts of the rooms have gotten a make-over: new beds, new bedding, new chairs, new a/c units, and new sinks. The room was very clean and I had a great night's sleep. The hotel staff was very courteous and cheerful
Breakfast was not much more than coffee/juice, cereal, fruit, and some pre-packaged baked goods--but that is standard for a motel like this.
In short, the room made up for any questions I had about the motel when I first drove in and it was a good deal for the price I paid.
