Nice old building and room looked light airy and clean. However our door lock was hanging off, the bed was sunken on one side, the water tank must have been in or near iur room as the sound of running water was on and off all night, so bad night sleep. But worst of all was the shower, linked to the taps on the bath. Temperature control was impossible so you either burn or freeze and it was a dribble and sometimes stopped too. Wouldn't stay again.

On the whole a good stay. Staff and food excellent. Only downside for me at 6 feet tall was being in a attic room with very low sloping ceilings which caught me out several times when not concentrating like switching on the kettle, getting out of the bath and even using the loo. I have a few reminders of my stay.

Rooms were very tired and walls were actually dirty with fingerprints, coffee and other stains…. Bed very uncomfortable - could feel the springs. Shower was held held and needed to be a contortionist to get wet…. But….. Very cheap and well located…. Pub downstairs is fine

I stayed here for 1 night the staff are very helpful .. the rooms are very spacious as my room had a separate living area to the bedroom will be coming back

We liked the bar and dining area but the bedrooms upstairs seemed to be in some need of investment, especially No 1 where we were first accommodated. After our first night we were moved to No 2 which was much better. There is no car-park for the property and parking in the centre of the town was expensive.

Great value for a warm bed and a hot shower in a superb location. It’s a well used old pub, so some of the facilities are a little tired, and there’s a bit of noise in the evening, but nothing that spoils the experience.

Die Toilette, die direkt neben unserem Schlafzimmer war, hat die Nacht über alle zwei Minuten sehr laute Geschäusche von sich gegeben. Und Bed&Breakfast - keine Ahnung, warum sie sich so nennen. Frühstück gab es weit und breit nicht...

Come over the island for a night found this pub on hotels.co , would defo use again the staff were so friendly the room was lovely and clean had every thing you need set in a lovely old inn , they were great with the dog to we will be back

Great location and a fair price for the accommodation. Evening meal and service great. Wifi in the room didn’t work until we got the code for the staff router. Freeview in room 7 needed to be connected. Bring your own shower gel as none was provided. Co traveller asked for extra bedding as duvet was thin and was told there wasn’t any at first. I checked with Caitlin and she said that wasn’t the case and quickly found some and put it in the rooms for us all. She also bled the radiators in both rooms - excellent service from her! Facilities very dated and tired but the bed was comfy and we got what we paid for. Great location for the ferry.

Watch out for the sharp pins on the floor!
My children found 9 (NINE) sharp tacks/pins on the floor. It could have been a nightmare if they stepped on one of them. They most likely came from the beds which looked pretty knackered. Next morning, we reported it to a guy who worked there, and he only replied to us “thank you” - with NO apology or NO compassion at all, “just get off” impressions. Things would have been ok if his behaviour was more adequate but sadly not. This place is one of finest examples of the things on the Isle of Wight which doesn’t want to change from 1970s. In fact it’s worse because of this guy’s attitude. Shame because this place could be 1000 times better with such an amazing historic building, especially in this pretty town of Yarmouth.

We stayed in what was advertised as a luxury en-suite room but nothing could be further from the truth. The decor, furniture, carpets etc were all tired & tatty. Curtains in the seating area were hanging off the rail & there was a general smell of drains coming from the bathroom. General areas in the pub were cosy & staff were very pleasant but I would not book accommodation there again. Expedia you need to check properties more carefully before putting them on your website.

Charming place and totally central! We also took advantage of eating in the restaurant and the food was good pub food! We would stay again, but would need a bigger bed, as for my partners size, the bed was to small.

Amazing Stay
Lovely setting in the Town of Yarmouth right next to the harbour view from the room was of the harbour seeing the wightlink comi g in and out and smaller boats on the solent family room very spacious beds very comfortable lovely Sunday lunch totally recommended to have one if you are staying or in the area Would not hesitate in staying again

Great Choice
Lovely inn in the heart of Yarmouth. Really nice recpetionist, clean room with a very comfortable bed. Spacious ensuite with a very deep bath. Beer garden was a lovely spot for drinks.

Lovely place, nice food, pleasant staff. Room was a bit tired and needed a revamp, the decor was a bit shabby (would still see the pattern on the overpainted wallpaper), needed a full repaint and shower upgrade. The bed squeezed when you moved! Very noisy but to be expected in a busy town centre pub. Serious rat problem outside, we watched them running all over the place in the outside seating area. No breakfast was a disappointment but you could get it at the cafe next door.

Good for a stay in Yarmouth. The pub and staff were nice. Great location by the sea front and ferry crossing. Our room was a bit dated, smelt a bit musty and its either a bath or a hand held shower. Theres no parking, and only free parking after 6pm.

Not very good
Whilst it is appreciated that this is a 16th century coaching inn the room was awful. Tired and very tatty furniture. Bathroom which was much in need of an update, cracked and loose tiling, rubbish shower, noisy saniflo toilet, really poor. Quite frankly I was glad to leave. The picture in the details is very flattering and nothing like reality. Details state that there is parking but there isn't. The parking consists of local parking facilities which need to be paid for. No breakfast during the week, only Saturday/Sunday. Overall a very dissapointing experience. How the AA rating can be 3 star is beyond me, 1 star at best.

Great Cost effective Price
Great location , everything you need . No on site parking however you can if timed right park on the road , however there is a main town car park if you can’t . Rooms are spacious although tired and in need of a refit . The price though reflects this so great value for money , for us we would definitely come back again .

Good Stay in the Bugle
The Bugle Inn is located in an ideal place for a holiday on the Isle of Wight. Yarmouth is a lovely seaside ferry port, great for bus links and great places to eat. We got a very good deal in the Bugle for 4 nights. We were welcomed when we arrived and our room was ready 3 hours before time, so we were able to check in immediately. The staff were very helpful and took our luggage up to our room. We ate twice there - lunch and evening meal. Although fully booked, they were able to accommodate us for dinner. The food is good standard tradtional pub food. They no longer do breakfasts, which is a change from our last visit. But Gossips cafe on the pier does excellent breakfasts. My reasons for not awarding higher are: the mattresses were old and in need of replacement and there was loud music on Friday night till just after 11pm. Because the inn is a listed building, the noise travels easily and we were above the bar area. Im not sure that rooms at the other end would be much quieter. Yes it was Friday night and people like to enjoy themselves, but there has to be a balance between that and the comfort of staying guests. I can not fault the staff. So overall we had a lovely stay particularly for the price.

Super noisy pub
Pub was comfortable and an easy location in Yarmouth. What would have been good to know when we booked was that on Friday and Saturday they have live music which sounds as if it is playing right inside your bedroom. Friday night was the most awful karaoke and it was basically in our bedroom till about 11.15pm which was not enjoyable. Saturday was a singer also in our room till about 10.30pm. So incredibly noisy. Room was basic but OK, we were also above the noisy alleyway next where they would park and empty out all the bottles etc from pub. Staff were very nice and pleasant, we were able to park our bikes in the courtyard for the duration as well.

Stayed twice before so yes another value for money stay . Couldn’t fit us in for dinner one rainy evening as busy busy but later said they could as we were staying there but we’d already booked the nearby Terrace so that was bit disappointing . Nice place for a few days . We didn’t have a car and very easy to visit places on nearby buses .

Very friendly check in and great atmosphere in the bar and dining area. Very convenient for the costal path for hikers. We didn’t eat at the Inn but the menu looked very nice and it was certainly popular with diners. The bedding was clean and the rooms spacious if a little tired and in need of a lift.

I was put in no 7 room which is in the gods I was happy with this as it feels more private My only gripe was that it took about 40 mins to run a bath as the hot tap kept stopping and spluttering

The Bugle is a genuine old coaching inn with a comforting vibe. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, tea making facilities, en suite perfectly adequate with old world touches. Dinner was delicious. It was just a comfortable and friendly stay, right on the square so within a minute or two of coffee places and nice little shops including a second hand book shop, a dying breed! Yarmouth itself is charming. Ferry also within two minutes’ walk. I would stay there again.
