"Hotel is immensely pretty and very rustic. Location is right in the heart of Nanluoguxiang. Good to explore and come back to hotel for nice tea (provided by the hotel) rest a bit then go and explore the rest of the area. It’s also very near to the Lake Shichahai and the area is very happening. Recommend at least 3D stay to fully soak up the vibe of the local culture and food there. We got upgraded to a nice room with an upper room on arrival. It’s beautiful and comes with a washing machine. Although hotel provides 24h tea and drinks, there is a lovely teapot in the room. Can make tea with jasmine tea leaves provided in the room. Do note that toilet tissues cannot be thrown into the toilet bowl! It’s inconvenient and uncomfortable but we realised it’s the same practice around that area. However, staff especially those that served us ie Ms Nicky and Ms Alice were superb. They are helpful and will go out of the way to help in any way they can could. One of the futon in our room was hard. They graciously top it up with another softer piece. They were also willing to accommodate us with cutleries and bowls when we brought our takeout and ate it at the hotel’s dining hall at one of the evenings. If you want to experience Chinese hospitality, this is the place."

"Cute little hotel in an amazing location! If you want to experience the charm of staying in a traditional Beijing hutong, this is the place. I absolutely loved my stay here. The staff was wonderful—especially Sherry, who was incredibly kind and helpful. They even did my laundry for free, which was such a nice surprise! Even though the hotel is in a busy area, you really don’t hear the outside noise, which was a big plus. The only thing to keep in mind is that the walls are a little thin, so if you’re a light sleeper, I’d recommend bringing earplugs as you may hear some noise from the other rooms. I would definitely recommend this hotel."

"I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at this hotel. It has to rank very close to the top of my hotel stays and i've been to many. I had a little bit of anxiety travelling to China cause i'm not fluent at all in the language. I only speak Cantonese. However, the staff all pretty much knew the basics of the English language which i really appreciated. The Suite that we had was UNBELIEVABLE!!! It was so gorgeous. I loved waking up and just relaxing in the room looking out the window. Also the Club floor is a MUST. The staff there are all so good. I felt so bad whenever they came by to clear my plate. I wanted to help out and do it myself. LOL. The food was also EXCELLENT on the club floor. Whatever room you're deciding to stay in ... i highly recommend paying extra for the club floor access. It's worth every penny. The pool was excellent too. It was great winding down at the end of a long walking day with laps in the pool. I just wanted to thank everyone at the hotel. My first trip to China was made incredibly rememberable with my hotel stay at the Rennaisance. Keep up the great work."

"This is our first trip without joining a tourists to China with our children. Our first stop is Xi’an. Second stop is Beijing. We choose this hotel for many reasons. It is closer to the subway station. We can walk to the Drum Tower and 什剎海。 The plants are inside out. We also wanted non smoking room; which is hard to find. We had experienced many hotels that has smell from the hallway to the room. That is not the case in here. It is definitely non smoking! In compare, this was the most pleasure experience hotel. It felt like home! We walked to the subway station line 8; which allowed us get to the center of the city in a short time. The subway contains 28 lines with clear written signs for transfer to other locations. People are friendly here; we also like the big fat cat. The hotel is tucked away in the neighborhood area; which is quiet and safe. We took a DD(taxi) from the airport. After dropping off at the front door, the staff came to lead us inside the hotel. (WeChat was sent to me a few day before arrival) This hotel is small but unique. It has about 16 rooms totals. Our room has a sky light. There is a share kitchen at the second floor with a table. That leads us to the rooftops with many plants and tables setting area. Every morning, I walked up here for stretching and fresh air. After that I walked to the local market place; where I could get breakfast. This market place offered all kinds of fruits. We enjoyed ! Highly recommend!"
