I stayed at the Westin Galleria Houston recently, and honestly, it ended up being a pretty solid place to crash for a few days. The biggest win is the location. Being connected directly to the Galleria feels almost unfair—you can wander downstairs in your socks (not that I did) and suddenly you’re surrounded by shops, food, and people who look way more put‑together than you do after a long day. It made everything easy. My room was comfortable in that familiar Westin way. The bed really is as good as people say; I slept better than I expected, especially after a long day of meetings. The room itself was clean and had plenty of space, even if some of the décor felt like it remembered the early 2010s a little too fondly. Nothing bad, just not super modern. The staff were genuinely kind. Not over‑the‑top, not robotic—just normal, helpful people. Someone at the front desk gave me a great dinner recommendation without sounding like they were reading from a script, which I appreciated. The lobby has a relaxed vibe, and I found myself hanging out there more than I usually do in hotels. If I had to nitpick, the elevators get crowded, especially when the mall is busy, and a few areas of the hotel could use a refresh. But those things didn’t ruin anything; they were just small bumps in an otherwise easy stay.
