"Great location. Paid parking is close. Most of the old building looks refreshed, but some hall carpeting looks tattered. Rooms and bathrooms were spacious. Breakfast buffet was hearty, but the coffee offered was so bad we bought instant in town and made our own at breakfast. Staff are very nice. There is a bar on-site, but we didn't use it."

"Very helpful and friendly staff. They were able to fix a sandwich for us on our late arrival. Very good breakfast and the evening meal we had was excellent. Clean and quiet room. We didn't use the parking as we arrived by train. Hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the station."

"A lovely hotel in a perfect setting by the river. My only quibble is that one morning at breakfast two staff members had a disparaging conversation about a colleague within earshot of guests. Bar prices were a bit on the high side but other than that The Palace was terrific."

"Well by far the most bizaare check ins ever!!! The staff were lovely. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A few problems with checking in, we were given a key to a room already in use. But overall it was fine for a night. Bar was noisy wnd rhere was a lot of banging which wadnt heloful with a 4am start. Shame tou couldnt book without breakfast. "
