“Blair Villa South is a unique traveller’s rest with old world charm. Our room was very spacious and clean. The guesthouse is very conveniently located with a short walk to the centre of Oban and our hosts were friendly and welcoming.”

Staff were overly “formal / professional” - felt almost awkward at times and didnt feel friendly. Hot breakfast for £25 not good value, continental breakfast at £17 also not good value (yoghurt, granola, canned fruit and watermelon). Good bedding, comfortable beds, but at this price I would not return.”

“We so enjoyed our stay at Blarcreen House. David and Deirdre were very welcoming and very helpful. They directed us to a great parking place in Oban for when we went on a three island tour. They encouraged us to explore the area right around the house. We even made friends with the cats and the cows. And their breakfast service was so very elegant and tasty.”

“The public areas of the hotel were clean and comfortable but my room was downright scruffy. The carpet was fraying in places and although the toilet, sink and shower in the bathroom were clean the room itself was in need of attention. The only good thing about the room was the view! HOWEVER I understand that the hotel is in the process of renovation, in fact work was in progress in one room on my floor so I was probably unlucky in the timing of my visit. “Another fantastic stay at Aspen lodge where nothing is too much trouble and you are served amazing breakfasts. Stayed for a week and we literally had a different breakfast daily. You can eat indoors or outdoors too here. We came back for the views and location, the food and the peace and most of all the warmth and kindness and local knowledge of our host A big thankyou once again”
