“Lovely warm room with comfy bed and immaculately clean linen. Tea, coffee and chocolate available together with biscuits. Bathroom spotless with minuature shower gels etc. Loads of breakfast choices with the cooked items cooked to perfection. Hosts very friendly. A five star experience.”

We arrived, and no one answered the door, I then phoned, a very polite helpful gentleman let us in, and apologised profusely for not hearing the bell. “Nice rooms over the pub. No AC so hot in late June. Some noise from the pub garden area but fine after 11 pm. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Nice outdoor eating/drinking area.”

“Rooms very beaten down, marks on walls, paint peeling off bathroom door. I understand you get what you pay for as it was cheap but the rooms could have been cleaner, there was loads of spider webs above windows and all on ceiling. Had 2 power cuts during the night. At least bed was comfortable ”

Contact from the hotel was really good prior to the visit to confirm the names of guests and whether car parking was needed, taking the registration number of the vehicle. Reception staff were helpful as we got there a few hours before check in but they let us in as the room was ready. They confirmed that the booking was for room only and explained that we could book breakfast each day if we wanted to....

“Really nicely appointed hotel and very comfortable. There is plenty of parking You are offered a good choice for breakfast and it is very reasonable. Downside, it does not do evening meals so you have to make alternative arrangements. Fortunately there are quite a few pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Great that you can take your dog but they are not allowed in the large breakfast room and you are seated in the lounge on a sofa with a coffee table. Bizarrely the reason given is...

A few things to note - the reception is located in a different area of the campus to the accommodation. For the reception you want to navigate to the South entrance on Landcroft Lane and then take the first left. “Very disappointed with room. Paid £80 when was only worth a maximum of £20. Fire safety poster in bedroom unreadable! “Bed and bedding comfy with 2 choices of pillows. Good hot water and pressure. Only draw back was the reverse cycle was not controllable due to not having a down button. Temp stays on 25 or you could put it up not down. Had a standing fan fan which we had on all night and heating off. Too cold for windows open. ”

Swimming pool was a good size. Sauna and steam rooms were working and usable. Gym was small but had everything needed. £15 parking for 24hr is a let down.
