"This is a truly unique hotel, transformed from an old house and surrounded by various shops that add to the street’s historic charm. We stayed on the ground floor and had a wonderful experience—a spacious bedroom facing a small, traditional courtyard, with convenient hotel facilities nearby. One staff member spoke excellent English, and even the Japanese-speaking staff were very helpful, assisting us by calling our next hotel in Kaga Onsen to arrange a pick-up bus. The staff were always polite...

"We were blown away by how unique the whole experience was and how hospitable the hotel staff was. We were given slippers and traditional robes when we arrived and our luggage was carried to the room for us. Our room was very quaint with a whole tea setup prepared at the table. The dinner was an incredible, elaborate experience that we weren’t expecting. The gardens were beautiful and the hot springs were so relaxing. "

"Good: excellent service, clean rooms, quiet, 10 minute walk from train station and 15 minute walk from Omicho Market. Bad: super extra hard bed (even more than usual for Japan), dirty onsen (hair in the pools, mold, bugs, etc.), breakfast was ¥1100 instead of ¥750 that it says online and it wasn't very good, WiFi in my room kept cutting out."
