I will recommend this place to anyone visiting the San Diego/La Jolla area! It was very central to downtown San Diego and walkable to the beach. The staff were so kind and accommodating! 10/10 experience!

We enjoyed our time here. This place is older and is more like an Air BnB than a hotel. But overall it met our needs well and was a fun, unique place to stay. We had a kitchen and a dining room table, and even a private outdoor table, which we would not have had in a normal hotel. This place delivers on charm and individuality. It's also very well located, within an easy walk or drive to both the beach and La Jolla village. Parking was easy either in their small parking lot or in the abundant street parking. The workers there were nice, but the office isn't open all the time, which would be my one real complaint. Overall, my group really enjoyed our time here and we would strongly consider staying here again next time we're in the area.

We booked Redwood Hollow Cottages for a birthday/babymoon getaway and it was the perfect place to relax. We loved the "secret garden" feel while still being close to the beach and some great places to eat. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely, quiet and highly central location to La Jolla city center. Ocean shore and abundant wildlife sitings one block away, easy walks to food, museums, and shops. Supermarket and drugstore on the main route in and out of town from this location.

Amazing trip, with lots of wonderful memories

It was amazing. The cottage was clean and very well equipped with everything you might need. The location in la jolla has been very nice as well. The cottage staff gave recommendations to which places to go and so on. It was just wonderful!

This property is a little gem among the bigger condos. Lovely landscaping for each unit. Small kitchen but has everything you need. Walkable to dining options and to the beach area. Would definitely come back again in the area.

Wonderful refuge in La Jolla

We spent a wonderful week at the Ocean Ridge Cottage. We found it spacious, well equipped, quiet and conveniently located. We were able to walk to the various beaches and coves, and plenty of restaurants. We did not have to interact with staff very much, but when we did they were helpful. I highly recommend Redwood Hollow.

This was perfect. It'd be fun to go with a group and rent all the cottages. It's a short walk to a small beach and also a short walk to a great restaurant, El Pescador Fish Market (Ate there 3 times on a four day stay) and a great surf shop, Mitch's surf shop. It would be perfect if it was on the beach. Also, don't miss The Taco Stand.

Very cosy cottage with charms.

Certainly not a luxury resort but doesnโ€™t want to be. My cottage consisted even of 2 huts with a kind of private garden. The second hut was furnished just with a coutch but how cosyโ€ฆ. Situation in La Jolla is perfect. 3 minutes walk to the sea, 5 minutes to restaurants and a supermarket. I recommend it and would come back again if I eber have the chance to visit La Jolla again.

Our family stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved it! We were in Whispering Pines, a small cottage suitable for a family of 3. It had a fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom and comfortable living space. I loved that the cottage had been renovated enough to meet our needs but still retained the old charm. The gardens and patios around each cottage are beautiful and so serene. It's a very short walk down to the beach and walkable to shops and restaurants too. There are 4 parking spots on-site but there's also free parking on the street. If we ever make it back to La Jolla, we will definitely stay here again.

Unique cottages of all sizes, lush landscaping and very quiet overall. Nicely appointed with all one needs for a comfy stay. Adorable setting. Complicated online reservation system. Some definite quirks(office closed on Sunday but Welcome book says they are open everyday). No one onsite after 5:00pm. No instructions on how to run the a/c or coffee maker. The ceiling fan only worked when bedroom light was on. No window screens

My stay at Redwood Hollow was a mix of pros and cons. The propertyโ€™s location is fantasticโ€”set in a stunning area with a beautiful garden, and within walking distance to the beach and La Jolla village. However, the hotel itself is in need of renovation. The rooms and facilities could use some updating to match the charm of the surroundings. One significant issue was the $500 charge to my card for a deposit on incidentals. Although I had read about it during booking, I was later informed that I wouldnโ€™t be charged. The charge only appeared on my account the morning of checkout, which was confusing and unexpected. While I enjoyed the area, the surprise charge left a sour note on an otherwise pleasant stay.
