On arrival, I was met with a very friendly and helpful receptionist, who went out of her way to make me feel welcome, and assisted me with booking in and Wi-fi registration. Offered dinner and the bar, and discussed parking arrangements. Perfect. Couldn’t fault it. But then I got to my room, a smaller double, but which looked like it would benefit from a lick of fresh paint, and had several dead insects (ladybirds I think) laying on the windowsill. The bed was very comfortable. In the morning, the shower was disappointingly low powered, and rather cool. Certainly not a hot shower. All this being said, all the staff, from reception to housekeeping to bar and restaurant were first class, and deserve great credit. I still enjoyed my stay at the Bridge Inn, but a cleaner room and hotter shower would have been appreciated
