The check in process was quick and easy. I was able to check straight into my room, a couple of hours early. Unfortunately, I was given a room downstairs, under the stair case and right next to the breakfast room. This meant the stairs were load and hallway noisy until 0100 and loud voices were heard from the dining space for breakfast from 0600-1000 which was very frustrating. Without a doubt, the worst room in the hotel I’m sure. Breakfast was described as included and the main selling point of the hotel, but unfortunately just continental. Limited to 4 items (including drink and additional butter / jam etc). Further cooked food came at a cost. Also, my second day, I was told to return as there were no tables free as I followed the instructions at the door and “waited to be seated”. 3 different groups then came in and sat down by themselves, despite me standing there. When I then did the same thing after waiting 10 minutes, I was told to move. Staff were very slow to respond to requests. Location is perfect. Great restaurants and shops nearby. Walking distance to lots of tube stops.

Ich bin mehrmals im Jahr in London und hatte gehofft, dieses Hotel für weitere Aufenthalte buchen zu können. Die Lage ist für mich perfekt und dass das Hotel eher einfach gehalten ist, stört mich nicht. Das reicht für meine Ansprüche. Allerdings hatte ich noch nie so ein schlechtes Bett. Die Matratze gehört auf den Müll und nicht in ein Hotelzimmer. Sie war so durchgelegen, dass die Metallspiralen deutlich zu spüren waren. Nach 2 üblen Nächten bat ich um einen Zimmertausch. Die Lady am Empfang wies das ab und versicherte mir, dass die Matratze geprüft und ausgetauscht wird. Als ich abends zurück kam, war noch die selbe Matratze im Bett, sie wurde wohl nur umgedreht. Ich bin sehr entäuscht und wütend. Sehr schade, dass die Belange der Gäste nicht ernst genommen werden. Da buche ich demnächst wohl doch lieber in meinen bewährten Hotels in London.

Not recommended! Stay away from this hotel! I booked for 3 nights but only stayed for 1 night. But never got a refund for the cancelled 2 nights. There’s no elevator (lift)! We were given the last room which was the small attic!!!! we had heavy luggages and could not carry them up to the attic, and there’s no luggage storage either. The front desk person told us we can leave our luggages in the “sitting room” where other guests gather together for coffee or just sit down together. It was embarrassing to open our luggages with a group of people sitting there. Our room was a tiny attic-converted-bedroom:3 small beds, I kept hitting my head on the slopey ceiling when I go to bed. The shower was so tiny, it had a folding door so you can go in & out. It didn’t close well either so the water from the shower leaks through the door. it was a nightmare taking a shower after a long tiring flight! We had to look for a nicer hotel that same night we checked in! Thank God we found a much nicer hotel with elevator and friendlier staff a couple blocks away. The front desk person was not friendly either.

Wir haben ein "superior" Zimmer gebucht für insgesamt 3 Personen. Die Größe des Zimmers und auch die Qualität entspricht nicht dem angebotenen Standard - kein Kleiderkasten nur eine Ablage und eine Kommode. Die Sauberkeit, speziell im Bad ist sehr mangelhaft. Handtücher wurden erst nach 4 Tagen und einer Aufforderung an der Rezeption gewechselt!

This place was exactly what I was looking for in an affordable, reliable stay in London. The room was small, but exactly what I was expecting. Very clean room, comfy bed, and nice private bathroom.

Wir haben 6 Nächte hier geschlafen. Die Lage ist top. Die Undergroundstationen Bayswater und Queensway sind in direkter Nähe und mit beiden alles super erreichbar. Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Die Zimmergröße war ausreichend für 5 Personen. Die Unterkunft war sehr hellhörig. Die Schiebetür im Bad ließ sich schlecht öffnen und schließen. Frühstücksangebot war für uns ausreichend. Die Servicedamen leider sehr gestresst und genervt. Der Frühstücksraum ist sehr laut. Die Rezeption war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unser Zimmer war in einem anderem Haus. 2 Minuten zu Fuß zum Haupthaus. Störte uns aber nicht. Insgesamt eine gute, bezahlbare Unterkunft für einen Städtetrip nach London.

Wir waren für einen dreitätigen Städtetrip in der Unterkunft und waren positiv überrascht von der Unterkunft. Das Zimmer war ordentlich und das Bad war zwar Recht klein, aber sauber. Der Check-In war reibungslos. Das Continentale Frühstück haben wir nur einen Morgen genutzt und sind dann die anderen beiden Tage doch lieber in ein Café gegangen. Die Auswahl war dürftig. Dennoch empfinden wir es als positiv, dass Frühstück angeboten wird und im Preis enthalten ist. Die Lage des Hotels ist super. Wir sind sogar am ersten Tag fußläufig durch die vielen Parkanlagen Londons in die Innenstadt gelaufen (weite Strecke, aber dennoch machbar!). Wer das Zimmer nur als Übernachtungsmöglichkeit betrachtet und keinerlei zusätzlichen Komfort erwartet, ist mit diesem Hotel gut beraten.

Greit område å bo i. Greit nok hotell, men spesielt frokost opplegg, der man får max 4 selvvalgte frokostdeler (toast, kaffe, yoghurt, juice, syltetøy/ost eller croissant). Ellers er det betaling for annet spiselig. Så absolutt ikke noe "Norsk hotellfrokost" ala buffet.

I didn't have high hopes after reading some reviews. But I was very gladly surprised! Staff are very kind, the rooms are clean (except for the fact that i have animosity against carpets), the beds were comfortable enough, considering its not a 4*hotel. You get what you pay, in this case, in my experience, more! The breakfast was acceptable, small room, but didnt have to wait either morning, and we were 6! Freshly baked croissants, milk, cereals, toasts... i cant say I liked the coffee though. BUT! And I can't believe I didn't see this in any review: there is a lounge in the groundfloor with a coffee/hot chocolate machine you can use for free! I recommend this small and underrated hotel 100%. One negative aspect would be the stairs being quite narrow, and no lift, but they are very open about that, after all, its an beautiful old building.
