We spent 16 wonderful days at the Centara Ras Fushi Resort on Giraavaru. Here is our take on the different aspects of that stay: Giraavaru is in the immediate vicinity of Male in the North Male Atoll. On one side this is good, as it means a very short boat ride for transfer from/to the Airport. On the other side, it means lots of Boat traffic and extreme light pollution from Male and the Commercial/Container Harbour. The House Reef is beautiful, but it is only accessible for Scuba Divers or experienced Snorkelers as the current can be strong and pull you out in the commercial shipping lanes (snorkelers are “required” to wear a life jacket). Very nice resort with several restaurants and bars, as well as a nice offering of Spa, Fitness, Activities and Water Sports. The villas are spacious & nicely appointed and the beds very comfortable. We had a beach Villa with Jacuzzi (completely private and thus very nice for relaxing in your birthday suit after a long day of Scuba Diving) and a private patio with lounge chairs and beach umbrella. The “Over-Water Villas” have direct access to the water, but lack privacy for their Jacuzzis and also, they don’t have umbrellas. The resort is doing much be eco-friendly (solar electricity, coral planting/nursery, reef cleaning days, ...). Heaven on earth. Staff very friendly, professional and caring. Management and front desk very helpful and informative. Food very good -reasonable choice on the daily basis, even for picky eaters . Pure tranquility and proper retreat, away from hassle of modern life. Rustic style, authentic, elegant and beautiful. Amazing house reefs, even for not great swimmers, breathtaking lagoon .pure retreat .great for anyone who is searching for peace , while surrounded by nature. Most definitely highly recommend.

Excellent room, friendly staffs +++

Overall, we had a great stay at Hard Rock Maldives. The biggest highlight was the staff—every single employee we encountered was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. From housekeeping to the front desk and even staff working around the property, everyone provided excellent service. Housekeeping was available around the clock and was very helpful. The resort itself is beautiful. The main beach is stunning, the pools are great, and the private pools in the villas were excellent. The complimentary boat transfer from the airport was smooth and convenient. The rooms and bathrooms were also very well maintained. Sessions breakfast buffet was a standout. There was a large variety of options, and the omelet station was excellent with great staff. The main downside was the food. We understood that resort dining would be expensive, but much of the food did not justify the price. In particular, the chicken dishes at several restaurants had an unusual taste and were disappointing for the cost. We stayed in overwater villas. The side facing the main beach had beautiful views, but the side facing the open ocean was very rocky. Several of us ended up with cuts on our feet from the rocks. We also had an ant issue in one of our three rooms, though the other two rooms were fine. There were occasional odors around parts of the property as well. Despite these issues, the excellent staff, beautiful beaches, great facilities, and overall atmosphere made for a memorable stay.
