"Our room #323 was large 2 rooms, bedroom w/king bed & TV. Living room also had TV above a fireplace; includes a large whirlpool tub. Nice to have a microwave & small fridge plus a small dining table for those who might eat in. They also have a nice Irish bar/restaurant which also serves a buffet style breakfast. Indoor pool was clean w/enough chairs. Towels are provided. Located just minutes from downtown which could be walkable for some. A definite stay if returning."

"This historic Italianate building is beautiful. The room we stayed was huge with separate sitting room. The staff upgraded to this Presidential room to enjoy while we stayed on slow quiet weekday night. We appreciated the original architecture, updated bathroom and jacuzzi. Only we wished if there was a nice bar and restaurant in it as there used to be back in the days. But there are some restaurants and brewery near by. So overall we really enjoyed. It was a nice surprise to find such one of a kind hotel near Maquoketa cave state park."

"Only one con, no elevators. If you’re handicapped or can’t do stairs make sure you are not on floors 3 or 4. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, food was decent."

"The property is beautiful. We had a Victorian style room on the ground floor. We were surprised how big the room was and the whirlpool tub was amazing. The only negative was the uncomfortable bed. Other than that our stay was wonderful."

"Stayed one night on a Saturday. Property is large but secluded right off the main road. Room was nice sized with large TV. Pool was closed but pool area looked very nice. Went to attached lounge for food which was ok. Bar a little rowdy but Iowa football was on. Breakfast choices were good. Was able to park right outside our room."
