Masaya is located 20 km south of Managua, Nicaragua. It is Nicaragua's first and largest National Park. As you can see off to the left, it is quietly letting you know it's there. If your eyesight is bad, your nose will let you know it too!!

The best time to see Masaya is at night so you can see the glow of the lava. Peering into the volcano you can see the lava flowing. There is usually a line of cars waiting to get to the top, as they only let a certain amount in at a time for about 20 minutes. There are vendors on the side of the road where we got some food and goodies. A must see in Nicaragua!
