Our room was done very beautifully and artistically and overlooked the Sassi Barisano for a great view. The bathroom is American sized and the room contained a large closet and cute balcony. It sits on a main piazza just a couple minutes to any of the major sites. Mimmo was an excellent host and even if we said the room didn’t need to be cleaned since we were staying only two nights, he had it cleaned anyway. We enjoyed our stay!

The room was very charming and unique - in one of the historic sassi (cave hewn into the rocks) but with all the modern amenities you could wish for. This is a unique property in the middle of antic city Matera. Beautiful views from the windows to die for, location, etc. Hotel is in excellent condition, furniture, room design, etc. Breakfast is very good. Great options for fine food in the area. You need to be prepare to walk a lot in the city of Matera with steps up and down including to and from hotel. If you can not walk - it is not for you. Parking (free or paid) is on the street within 10-15 min or so walking. Finding can be a problem....
