Typical Red Roof Inn. The room was clean and mostly comfortable. The TV was old and didn’t work very well and the bed was squeaky but pretty comfortable. Bathroom was clean and the overall experience here was good.

Thankful we stayed

We had an unfortunate experience with an Airbnb place, and we had to leave in the middle of the night. It was very bad, and we are not picky. I was able to get right in with Red Roof Inn, and check in with ease and at 1:30 in the morning everyone was kind and courteous and helpful and empathetic.

Overpriced

The people who worked there were very helpful and nice. I appreciate being able to have my dog in my room for no extra charge. I felt like my room had a smell to it. It wasnt gross but not fresh. My lamp shade was pretty stained. The ac was nice and cold.

Be cautious using the microwave

Let me start off by saying that the staff was really friendly, and we had no issues with them. The place was only about a 10 minute drive to lake Michigan so that was really nice. The room was dirty and had a strange smell to it. I went to make a bag of popcorn in the microwave, and the thing caught on fire luckily it went out as fast as it started, which is a good thing because the smoke detector never went off.

The staff was kind and friendly! BUT, we changed rooms twice to supposed "non-smoking" rooms. Spraying a fresh scent doesn't fix the walls which absolutely reek of smoking! Either they need to fine smokers heavily for use of those rooms, which by the way they say they do, or not call them nonsmoking. It was horrible and difficult to sleep. We are double washing our clothes to hopefully remove the odor. Stay away from this place!

Upon arrival, the entryway walk to the lobby smelled like marijuana. I walked into the lobby and was greeted with friendliness. He was to the point and had me checked in rather quickly. I drove around to get to my room and saw a pickup parking in the back that looked like it had been there for a while. It had been broken into and had flat tires. Maybe a police ram. It wasn't good. Liter and cigarette buds all over the ground. I was seriously rethinking this location choice. The previous reviews made it seem like a decent spot. I entered the room, and someone had been smoking in this nonsmoking room. It was very strong. There was dirt and build-up all over the floor. Crumbs in the sitting chair were very obvious. Walking up to the bed, I noticed that the duvet was soiled or stained, maybe, but it was gross. The white sheets were in the same condition but had hair all over them. It appeared like someone slept in it and made it back up. The bathroom sink was clean. I have stayed at some tremendous red-roof locations and love them, but this one was pretty rough.

It looks kinda sketchy from the outside but the rooms are kept clean. I had the king suite and it was clean and comfy. I would stay there again.

This was a $70 room at best not $170, which is what i paid. The bed was comfortable and there is a nice desk. Lots of dust. The bathroom was so poorly maintained, it was difficult to tell if it was clean or dirty. Ick. The facilities were filthy. Evidently, they haven't heard about power washers and paint. The trashcan was overflowing. Not only will i never stay there again, i will never stay at another Redroof.
