"Secure cheap parking, breakfast was lovely as were the waiting staff. Room was clean tidy and spacious. Receptionist's we spoke to 3 different ones and all were friendly and welcoming In an ideal spot very close to the Cathedral and the shambles. Would definitely return."

"First and foremost, this is not a five-star accommodation. However, if you’re looking for an hotel with old charm with a beer garden and fantastic staff, this will foot the bill. The beer garden had the best mac & cheese and parsnip soup you’ve ever had in your life. Location is extremely convenient to the train station, York Minster, restaurants, pubs and shopping. They’re not a lot of rooms and there is no elevator. Some doors may not close, and floors may be a little warped, but it is worth the price for a quaint accommodation that has everything. If you need accessible lodging, this is not for you. "
