The hotel accepted my reservation. But when I arrived the drive was blocked and no reply from the number on the website or the board outside. I guess closed due to covid restrictions but no info for me. I had to book another hotel
Shocking that hotels.com accepted this booking. Booked 3 rooms for 4 nts as working locally and turned up to find hotel was closed. Had to find alternative accommodation at the last minute, despite receiving confirmation of booking in advance.

The building is under refurbishment so my wife had a wasted booking. This should not have occured and Trivago should not have advertised this location. Very disappointed!!!
The room is lovely and clean and the staff are more than helpful to help with any of our issues would highly recommend this hotel and will be coming back to stay again soon
Booked a double room. Single traveller on business. Room very small, toilet you had to manoeuvre into position. But the bed was very comfortable. Lots of parking spaces. Easy to find hotel. Breakfast at 10.95 ok. Two bacon, one sausage, two eggs, very very small portion of beans, fried tomato. Help yourself to toast. Cereals two choices.
We stayed at Northop as we had a party to go to in Mold. Hotel was great, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on Sunday was very good, our eldest was hungry so he had double everything :)
There were a number of niggles with this hotel:
Rolls arrived still frozen in the middle, in the restaurant
Curtains in bedroom were on a net curtain wire, rather than a proper track, so would only open about halfway
The fire in the bar couldn't be lit because 'the person who lights the fires is away this week'
The lamp in the bedroom was faulty, and flickered if the wire was moved (was in date for PAT testing though)
But my main issue was the cleanliness:
The Bathroom had a real smell to it, and the photos will probably explain why. Although the sink, bath, toilet had clearly been superficially cleaned, it was clear that it had been a very long time since there had been any thorough cleaning. The sink overflow was grim, as was around the bath taps. There was a similar story in all the corners
If I had been staying more than 1 night, I would have checked out early and gone elsewhere.
The room we stayed in was tired. Rusty radiators, rusty toilet roll holder, black silicone, stained toilet/sink/bath, shower screen coming away from the wall, shower head ready for the dustbin, curtains that barley covered the windows, TV remote filthy, cobwebs, dust and no hot water..
But on a positive note, bed linen was clean.
Main reception could do with carpets being cleaned.

Location good for exploring north wales. Hotel room a little disappointing. Scuff marks on the walls. Incomplete decor, alterations to room and could have been cleaner

Nice location. Friendly staff. Decor and furnishings a bit tired. Nice stay though
Gorgeous setting, original features of the hall preserved, home cooked freshly made food In Chequers restaurant, fantastic staff, so friendly and welcoming. Rob and his team are all lovely and seem genuinely passionate about customer service!
Second time we have stayed and we wouldn’t hesitate returning time and time again!
Highly recommended!
